Comment: (not for picky buyers) pages are unmarked but all have a water mark/stain at the bottom and are stiff at that spot, still it does not affect readability, book is totally functional, binding is tight and covers show moderate signs of wear. q2

Intense and engaging protocol that really helped me shed fat and increase my anaerobic capacity. The book contains 3 different training plans of increasing difficulty and complexity, centered around the Kettlebell Snatch. I am an intermediate kettlebell lifter and long time fitness and martial arts enthusiast in my mid-thirties. I trained the first level plan for 8 weeks, 2-4 days per week, along with calisthenic strength training (Convict Conditioning big 6 progressions and heavy kb TGUs) and twice per week MMA practice and miscellaneous sports, hikes, swimming etc . In the 8 weeks that I ran the protocol, I lost 7 pounds (175 to 168) without changing my diet (aprx 3,500 cal per day) and enjoyed great improvement in my cardiovascular ability, which I observed especially during BJJ/Grappling practice which used to leave me very winded. In this 8 week time period my resting heart rate dropped from 68 bpm to 57 bpm. I also saw improvement in my grip and forearm strength, increased vascularity in my arms, and saw significant abdominal definition for the first time in several years. I would recommend this program to any intermediate to experienced kettlebell athlete who is looking for an intense protocol to help with a specific weight loss goal, or for high intensity conditioning for a sport.

I would recommend this book to anyone who needs to add cardio to their workouts but wants to do it in a unique way. This book is simple to understand and entertaining to read. Some reviews slammed it for being too simple or too short. It is not a major literary novel but I value the content. From my internet surfing I thought there was only one type of conditioning exercise that the book would discuss...I was only partially correct. The book does only deal with kettlebell snatches but there are five phases to the program (then you get a heavier kettlebell and start over). Each phase is a bit different but all blast you with snatches. BTW, you will need to get a Gym Boss interval timer too.

Viking Warrior Conditioning is a excellent way to build conditioning using kettlebells with only one KB you can build serious endurance workouts are short and progressive in intensity
I personally recommend mixing this approach with other methods to avoid overtraining ( running , etc)

This book was not worth $30! It's not the easiest to follow all of what they're talking about in this book. The training guidelines are not all that clear and leave you confused as to what the workout plan is. If you can, rent this from a library or borrow from someone or a friend. You will have to Google some of exercise and the terminology to get a better grasp or understanding of what they're talking about. Good luck!

V02max isn't new, nor are KB snatches. The "science" presented in the book is more like "bad science". Which was a bummer because I was really hoping for some hard science!

I was disappointed when the author presents the "math" to illustrate his concepts. I'm a math student and his presentation just made me laugh; it wasn't real math at all. I really doubt you can explain these concepts; why and how they work, using only simple linear equations LOL.

Do you want to save time and money?

If so then do your snatches on a Tabata protocol. It will have a very similar effect that the author of this book is after. The Tabata protocol is easy to understand and proven by real science. Combine snatches with Tabata and you're ready to rock, not to mention you just saved 30 dollars. ;)

Oh, to be a good sport, I gave it an extra star for the testimonials at the end. They were mildly entertaining to read and some of the photo's were pretty nice.

Thanks for reading my review, I hope you found it helpful. :)

This book is so dense the average person needs to read it at least three times in order to get the benefit of its wisdom. I've been using kettle bells for about three years in order to rehab a shoulder injury from work, and this really is a great way to get your heart and the major muscle groups in shape at the same time. I'm 53, and was humbled by the 15,15 protocol. I would recommend this for anyone with about 6 months or more of training, not for beginners but very good.

This book was very entertaining and educational. Easy to implement and program along with your strength training. Gives sample programing for rising through the ranks of the different protocols. I used to just run or do circuits for conditioning and test my 800 or 1600 meter times, but this is a whole different animal. You'd be missing out with-out it.

This is a really great and informative book that teaches you exactly what you need to know to increase your conditioning using only a kettlebell! The information is precise, based on science and is written in a easy to understand, yet not simplified way!

A great buy!
