Product Description

Amazon.com Review

This electric-powered cookie press pumps out cookies of uniform size and is ideal for many favorite family recipes, such as spritz cookies, Norwegian crowns, ginger snaps, and lady fingers. The cordless, rechargeable handle allows you to process your dough at any location without requiring proximity to a plug. The handle’s high-powered 120-volt motor can get through large batches of cookies--up to 800--without needing a recharge but operates quietly in spite of its strength.

After an initial charge of about two hours, the power cookie press is ready to go. To begin, pack your dough into the cookie press’s transparent tube and attach the handle. Pressing the power switch ejects the dough; longer pulses produce larger cookies while short pulses of the switch extrude smaller cookies. The motor has five-step speed reduction gearing, which gradually slows the cookie press down as the thumb comes off the power switch for more precise extrusion of dough. This power cookie press comes with twenty snap-in 2-1/8-inch-diameter discs for making cookies in shapes ranging from crescents and pretzels to Christmas trees and stars. Also included are four different funnels for applying decorative icing or cake filling, an AC adapter for recharging, a special brush for cleaning out the tube, and a reusable storage box for holding all the attachments. This product is covered by VillaWare under a full one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the cost, December 12, 2003

This review is from: VillaWare V5375 Power Cookie Press (Kitchen)
This cookie press is wonderful. Just squeeze the button, count to 5 and lift the press. I made 200 cookies in a flash. Cookies come out great. Try going to www.allrecipes.com, search for spritz and use the Butter Snow Flake (spritz cookie) recipe submitted by Linda. Watch the cooking time...I only needed 8 minutes-the recipe calls for 12-15-much too much. The dough works really well with this press. No sticking or clogging. No need to chill it or anything like some of the other recipes. Good luck!

1.0 out of 5 stars Was Great when it worked but no availability for parts, November 20, 2006

This review is from: VillaWare V5375 Power Cookie Press (Kitchen)
I purchased my Villaware Cookie Press about 2 years ago and only use it at christmas and usually only over the course of 3-4 days. I don't make more than 3-4 batches of cookies at a time, so I didn't have any battery problems and I usually just left it plugged in.

My plastic dough tube broke however the last time I used it and the company does not offer or have any replacement tubes. They recommend buying a whole new machine. I find it very poor that this company does not stock replacement dough tubes as this is going to be the part that is always subject to the most stress and is most likely to break. For the sake of a plastic part that probably costs less than $1, they want me to buy a whole new machine. They claimed that they are unable to get the components separately, even though I was more than willing to pay for the new tube.

Now, I still have my old-fashioned hand crank press that I got from my mother that is at least 40 years old. I am going back to it and will not buy another product from Villaware again.
