5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the cost
This cookie press is wonderful. Just squeeze the button, count to 5 and lift the press. I made 200 cookies in a flash. Cookies come out great. Try going to www.allrecipes.com, search for spritz and use the Butter Snow Flake (spritz cookie) recipe submitted by Linda. Watch the cooking time...I only needed 8 minutes-the recipe calls for 12-15-much too much. The dough works...

I purchased my Villaware Cookie Press about 2 years ago and only use it at christmas and usually only over the course of 3-4 days. I don't make more than 3-4 batches of cookies at a time, so I didn't have any battery problems and I usually just left it plugged in.

No need to chill it or anything like some of the other recipes. Good luck!

I purchased my Villaware Cookie Press about 2 years ago and only use it at christmas and usually only over the course of 3-4 days. I don't make more than 3-4 batches of cookies at a time, so I didn't have any battery problems and I usually just left it plugged in.

My plastic dough tube broke however the last time I used it and the company does not offer or have any replacement tubes. They recommend buying a whole new machine. I find it very poor that this company does not stock replacement dough tubes as this is going to be the part that is always subject to the most stress and is most likely to break. For the sake of a plastic part that probably costs less than $1, they want me to buy a whole new machine. They claimed that they are unable to get the components separately, even though I was more than willing to pay for the new tube.

Now, I still have my old-fashioned hand crank press that I got from my mother that is at least 40 years old. I am going back to it and will not buy another product from Villaware again.

I received this as a gift for Christmas and its wonderful. It works great. The cookies come out nicely formed and it is easy to use. It cleans up really easy and I love the huge assortment of metal disks that came with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highest Quality Cookie Press, December 22, 2005
This review is from: VillaWare V5375 Power Cookie Press (Kitchen)
When I was growing up, my mom and I made spritz cookies all the time. Now that I live in my own apartment, I wanted to continue making them. I bought a cheap, plastic $20 cookie shooter that had no motor power to drive the cookie batter out. I was unable to make any cookies and consequently, wasted all the batter. It was useless, and I had to throw it away.

I then decided to invest in a VillaWare Power Cookie Press. I can't believe the difference between the two devices! VillaWare's Press is made of high-quality parts that make it durable. I made a huge amount of batter, and easily cranked out hundreds of holiday cookies. It was really simple to use - just press the button and wait five seconds - and all of the cookies came out perfectly. I loved the different discs that were included - all you have to do is get creative with colored sugars, sprinkles, and icing.

Overall, it's worth investing in the VillaWare Cookie Press. You're sure to get a product that will actually function and have a long lifespan, providing you with batches of cookies season after season.

1.0 out of 5 stars DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, April 9, 2006
This review is from: VillaWare V5375 Power Cookie Press (Kitchen)
I am an avid cook and baker. I used this unit twice and it broke after the 2nd useage. I found it to be very slow; the charge didn't last long so I had to keep it plugged in. The dough had to be very very soft in order for the press to produce the cookies. I am very disappointed that such an expensive item would operate so poorly.

Much better than the old-fashioned hand crank presses. Just push the button and the cookies come out great. One tip though: don't fill the tube up entirely - leave a 1/2 inch or so at the top otherwise the plunger can get stuck.

My husband and I just received our VillaWare V5375 Cookie Press.
We charged it overnight and decided to make a batch of our butter cookies.
We were very pleased to find that the motor is more than capable of producing cookies at a very efficient rate.
Also, the loading of the dough is very easy and clean up is a breeze.
It's a pleasure not to have to worry about getting batter on the cord because it's cordless.
We highly recommend this to anyone who bakes spritz cookies.

Works for me because I have arthritis in my hands and couldn't use my manual one anymore. However it is a lot slower and more time consuming.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Cookie Press, January 1, 2008
Took awhile to get started and figure out. The trick was not filling the tube all the way, you need to leave at least a half inch so the white plastic piece that pushes the dough out can latch on to the grooves. Once I figured that out, it was smooth sailing. Very fast, sure would love a bigger tube though!

2.0 out of 5 stars VillaWare cookie press-a disappointment, January 11, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: VillaWare V5375 Power Cookie Press (Kitchen)
I purchased this cookie press after my Wearever Super Shooter quit after 22 years. I wanted a cookie press with a plug. I did not want to deal with batteries. This cookie press can be battery operated or it has the option to use the plug. I was highly disappointed with the power in the press. It took me more than 3 hours to do what I did with my old press in one hour. I do use this with a thicher dough, but my old cookie press had no trouble at all with the thickness. I packed the VillaWare Cookie Press up and mailed it back. I bought a used Wearever Super Shooter on E-Bay. I would not recommend this cookie press unless you are working with a very pliable cookie dough.
