Its Bakelite handle stays cool and has a nifty lock to keep small fingers from accidentally opening the lid during baking. Best of all, the face of America's favorite mouse--Mickey--is emblazoned on both the inside and the outside of this dandy appliance. What fun to surprise your child with a toasted cheese sandwich with Mickey's face captured on top! Mickey sandwiches would also be perfect treats for children's birthday parties. The silicone nonstick surface is terrific and forgiving, as long as you remember to pre-oil it each time you use the appliance; we're partial to a nonstick spray. And you'll keep the surface working perfectly if you always use a plastic or wooden spatula. Originally I bought this for my daughter so I could make her quick grilled cheese sandwiches with a face she could recognize. She loved it. Then I started using it to make me breakfast sandwiches. Ham and cheese sandwich on one side and I would put egg beaters (or a scrambled egg) on the other side and while I put away all the ingredients (bread, ham, & eggs/egg beaters) and get out my plate my breakfast would be done! Works better with egg beaters than real eggs. I had some problems with egg getting stuck in Mickey's face but that is easily remedied with a swipe of butter or margarine on a piece of paper towel making sure to get into the small spaces by Mickey's mouth before putting the eggs in. I just put the egg right on top of my sandwich and eat it like that. I've done egg beater omelets with only sliced ham (the cold cuts) and those were good too. VERY quick and easy to use and clean up is a breeze. I just use a damp paper towel and wipe down. Requires a small storage space as it can be stored on it's side. It's a must for Disney/Mickey fans!!

The Mickey that gets "stamped" on the bread was a big hit with my 3 year old and my 2 year old. It's quick and easy!
