Book Description

Italy from Above September 18, 2007
Imagine yourself in a rustic farmhouse in Tuscany, sipping cappuccino al fresco in an intimate piazza, or eating fresh-caught fish in a restaurant overlooking the sea. Featuring the spectacular travel photography for which White Star is world renowned, this addition to the Italy from Above series takes readers on a birds-eye tour of the most picturesque towns in Italy, over quaint fishing villages and ancient inland towns. From the stunning landscapes and grand monuments of Tuscany to the splendor of the five seaside medieval villages of Cinque Terre to the severe, elegant lines of the towns of Umbria’s Perugia, Spoleto, and Norcia, hundreds of photographs present a variety of panoramas that are all the more compelling when viewed from above. The delightful diversity of Italy’s small towns comes alive in this collection of vibrant photographs that showcase the most picturesque places in Il Bel Paese.

This review is from: Villages of Italy (Italy from Above) (Hardcover)
This coffee table book, with 220 pages of beautiful photos of Italy's villages from above, is my favorite book of Italy (and I have many). Antonio Attini's photographs are incredibly colorful and spectacular; I'd say as good or better than National Geographics quality. The book served as a nice travel guide of Italy for me, and my travel lust quickly kicked in. I quickly had a desire to return to Italy as soon as possible, and visit as many of these picturesque villages in person, as time and my travel budget permits. Great job, Antonio!
