There is a very significant difference between two books titled Villas of Tuscany both by Carlo Cresti and Massimo Listri, of the same size (except thickness), and in almost identical dust jackets. The one with ISBN-10 0865651442 by Vendome Press or ISBN 0304344877 by Cassell Illustrated published in 1993-4 has 477 pages, and the other of 2003 with ISBN 0865652430 by Vendome Press or ISBN 186064998X by Tauris Parke Books has only 320 pages. Both are albums comprised of only excellent & mostly large photos (455 in color in the 477-p. ed.) and relatively short, but quite detailed descriptions of villas (54 in the 477-p. ed.) preceded by more analytic and also well illustrated text (on pp. 7-98 in the 477-p. ed.). Technical drawings or schematics are not included.

I purchased this book hoping to find images of Tuscan villas that shows the architectural details. And this book is just that. It's perfect to use as a reference when you are looking to be inspired.

This book is a must for all those with a passion for things Italian and indeed Tuscan. Page after page of awesome photographs with a detailed history of each villa. A book to return to time and time again if only to remind one of visits to a most marvellous part of the world.

This is such a spendid compilation of visions of private villas that nmo one will be afforded to partake unless related to the amazing individuals who own these precious palaces. Every turned page is a sigh. Italy without a doubt is one of the most amazingly beautiful places on the planet, and the caretakers of these residences spend millions and spend more millions to preserve and keep them in such pristine splendor. It is a treasured volume to literally save-your-money and take a "stay-cation" simply by turning pages!

Stunning over-sized, heavy hardcover architectural survey of the most beautiful/renowned villas of Tuscany. Finely bound in Italy, filled with a plethora of high quality colorful plates (around 37 villas covered). beautiful coffee table book, or great addition to any library, worth the price!

Beautiful book.
Interesting architectural descriptions but too few interior views and write ups.
Not helpful for the study of interior design.
