Except for NOT having an adjustable temperature control, a feature I was counting on, this waffle iron works well. The only other waffle iron I have bought in the past, that I liked, had this feature and I could make crisp waffles on a regular basis. Using the Villaware, and my standard recipe, my first waffle comes out limp. I will have to learn how to add more time for warmup and for cooking. The handy warning beep comes too early. The technical specifications listing clearly states 'adjustable temperature control' and should be corrected, so others are not misled.

Overall, this product is a great and consistent waffle maker. Recipes are simple, clear and easy to follow. The end result is my kids making waffles for breakfast every Saturday and Sunday morning.

Some features that allow this to be a great product. 1) An audible alarm that lets everyone know the waffle is done, without having to open/close the lid to check. 2) The non-stick surface is exactly that, a non-stick surface!! 3) Easy clean up, nothing sticks, nothing to scrub. 4) Easy to follow recipes, that don't call for weird or un-common items. 5) Great, consistent waffles that the cook is proud to serve to a hungry family!

A great product, would recommend this to all.

The key to this excellent waffler is full preheating. If the batter is added too soon, the waffles come out limp and wet. If too little batter is added, the waffles come out overly dry.

This particular waffler takes practice but once learned, you will be the rave of family and friends. Truly, these will be your best ever waffles. No question.
