Manufactured in Germany, bone china construction endows the bowl with purity in whiteness, translucency, and strength for years of use. Wispy shadows of butterfly dance across the bowl’s creamy white exterior. Inside the bowl’s basin, a slim taupe band circles around the brim, punctuated by petite gold dots. Techniques of trompe l’oeil are applied to the button-like dots for an illusion of three-dimensionality. From this ornate band, zigzagging chains of smaller, semi-translucent dots dangle another set of gold accents. The microwave-safe bowl can be heated slowly in the oven at low temperatures. While dishwasher-friendly, take care when loading the bowl to prevent scratches. Avoid abrasives when washing by hand.
