Made in Germany, the cup is crafted in bone china. The cup attracts attention with the porcelain construction’s characteristic translucency and pure whiteness, while boasting remarkable strength to last for several generations. Below the discrete copper-colored enamel applied to the rim, a slim band in taupe circles around the cup’s exterior. Petite golden dots punctuate the band and feature techniques of trompe l’oeil to create an illusion of three-dimensionality. Underneath this ornate band, another round of gold accents dangles from scattered chains of smaller semi-translucent dots. Safe for use in the microwave, the cup also is dishwasher-safe, although the user should take care while loading. Avoid abrasive cleaners and scrubbers when washing the piece by hand. For storage, do not stack the cup as this causes undue stress to its loop handle. Hang the cup or store turned upside down.
