Book Description

October 2001
The epic saga of Kort Villikon, a military commander framed and banished to the prison world of Itasca, continues in the exciting second installment; The Villikon Chronicles: Ascension of the Expatriates Part 2...Pilgrimage of Hope.

Unaware of Vice General Rybolt’s political plans for his exoneration, Kort Villikon roams the treacherous deserts of Itasca with Exuma, a dinosauric Dirt Whale, avoiding warmongering clans, pirates, and a vampirical race known as the Porphyrian Hive. Existing in a villainous society with no hope for escape, Villikon searches for a place to call home. His pending rescue unbeknownst, Villikon discovers a hidden oasis through the cleft of a dormant volcano in the desert wastelands. He encounters a peaceful society of second-generation villagers who believe he is the prophesized leader of their escape. Villikon marries an Itascan native and learns of a legendary starship crashed in the northern hemisphere. Villikon realizes Mystere, an old acquaintance, was marooned on Itasca aboard the same legendary ship, and sets out on a quest with his wife Zandora, their child, and the villagers to seek her out, and find the lost craft. The crusade favors some, but disillusions many, as faiths are tested under extreme conditions.

Elsewhere on the planet, Imperium Forces arrive from the home world to begin searching for Villikon. But a corrupt intelligence officer intends to protect the horrible secret he abandoned and hid from the military for over a half-century - a genetic weapon, which spawned a vampirical race of foes, dwelling under the dreadful surface of the planet.

About the Author

Bryan Kinnaird started as a staff writer in the late 80's, writing for morning radio. He later wrote marketing scripts for sales companies before professionally writing and producing corporate training programs for his own video production company.

In 1997, Bryan began writing motion picture screenplays and created the concept that would become the basis for "The Villikon Chronicles", a futuristic story told from a soldier's point of view that imaginatively portrays the trials and tribulations of mankind. This intriguing tale, set against the backdrop of a militarized universe plagued with maniacal villains, vampirical creatures, religious fanaticism, and moral hypocrisy, has received numerous accolades, and appeals to several genres. It is a modernized myth with unique story beats, plot twists, symbols, and themes that transcend cultural and national boundaries.

In November 1999, Bryan Kinnaird joined artist Roy Young to form Young-Kinnaird Productions. Roy Young originally collaborated with Bryan Kinnaird on the documentary film, Behind the Scenes of Destructive Metal and Comic Book Mayhem. The film delved into the underground influence of metal music on new age comic books.

Bryan Kinnaird's work has attracted serious consideration by acquisitionists and film studios alike. Respectively, "The Villikon Chronicles" has been revered as an intelligent tale, worthy of master storytellers H.G. Wells, Ray Bradbury, Frank Herbert, and cinematic genius George Lucas.

Literary agent, Mr. George Kaplan of the Cano Agency represents Bryan's material.

5.0 out of 5 stars An epic that will last through the ages, July 9, 2004
This review is from: The Villikon Chronicles: Ascension of the Expatriates, Part II: Pilgrimage of Hope (Paperback)
In a stroke of pure genius, Bryan J. Kinnaird made a bold marketing move and sought out Cheyenne Silver to be the model for one of the leading characters, Mystere. Cheyenne was already beginning to branch out into other endeavors, such as playing a major role in her first feature film "This Girl's Life", along with James Wood. When Cheyenne had received the script for The Villikon Chronicles, she immediately took a liking to it, and signed on for the role.

Even though the first storyline is over, the chronicles have only begun. The Villikon Chronicles II: Rites of Abolition will be coming out, along with The Crucible of Mystere. In addition, Bryan J. Kinnaird is said to still be working at turning Villikon into a movie or TV series.

If you can't find this series in your local comic store, be sure to order your copy online and check out their out their website for tons of character information at www.villikonchronicles.com It's a read worth receiving, and an epic that will last through the ages.
