Home Vision's Portrait of the Artist!,
By Gandalf "a reader" (U.S.A) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vincent: A Dutchman [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Home Vision is the source for fine arts videos; it's their specialty. Hence they did a professional job making this video which concentrates on the most productive period of Van Gogh's career, but touches all the bases from his childhood in Holland to his early death. The story is narrated by Christopher Reeve which is quite a pleasure in itself. Christopher Reeve uses Van Gogh's paintings and letters to tell his amazing life story. If you want to see more, you can watch Robert Altman's movie "Vincent and Theo" which fleshes out the story considerably.
