x marks the spot,
By Jim Schmim "Jim Schmim" (Coventry UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vincent & Mr Green (Audio CD)
This has to be one of the hardest albums to describe in terms of comparing it to other music...fact is, this record sounds unlike anything I've ever heard before...or since (I've had it for nearly two years)...Jade Vincent's voice is disturbingly beautiful...Keefus Ciancia's music is a minefield of buried treasure...you will be continually blown away by the riches you unearth...all sixteen tracks hit buttons and trigger memories and feelings.
It's the record I've gone back to again and again...more than any other...It cuts it through good times and the bad...trust me, you've got to hear this stuff! If you love music...you will love this album...

Prince on heroin... or Portishead on speed?,
By N. Gray "Alright! Who siphoned the blood out ... (Melbourne, Australia) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Vincent & Mr Green (Audio CD)
I got this CD because Ipecac recommended it, and amazon came up with the idea, too (based on another purchase). My interest was piqued even more when I couldn't find ANYTHING from these guys ANYWHERE in Australia (not where I looked, anyway!)
After months of 'umm-ing' and 'ah-ing', I took the gamble... What I found was more than any 'review' could have prepared me for. This CD is fat (or Phat)! It has some of the deepest bass that a sub woofer can handle, yet contrasts with some very delicate percussion that you have to strain to hear. This all comes together with a strange vocal mix that has no real place in this 'style' of music! Yet it works so well. It is a 'feeling' CD; I find it sobering. There is a matter of factness about the music that forces you to take it seriously, yet a broodiness about the whole mix that makes you realise that your life ain't so bad. I mentioned in my header that this is either Prince on the Horse, or Portishead on the wizz. I mean this. There are elements of both of these artists in this music. It is brilliant. I don't know if this is a band that I will go and buy everything they ever did, but I am certainly greatful that I have this CD. It's impressive.

A Beautiful Record,
By Joel (Chicago,IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vincent & Mr Green (Audio CD)
I agree with the other reviews on this page - this is truly hard one to discribe, which gives you all the more reason to check this out. I can't tell you one person who I've played this for who hasn't been blown away by it - No matter what your music tastes - it's creepy / sad / hopeful / uplifting / mysterious / I could go on and on. I'm very moved by this record - the more you listen the more you get sucked into it's twists and turns. Basically, a truly beautiful record.
