5.0 out of 5 stars Very well done, March 27, 2006

This review is from: The Da Vinci Code Deception: Solving the 2000 Year Old Mystery (DVD)
Beautiful artwork. Excellent response to the sloppy history and "theology" of the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. Both Catholic and Protestant experts represented. Dan Brown declined to be interviewed for this film and forbade the use of footage from TV interviews in which he claimed the history and descriptions of art, etc. are accurate.

The main response is one hour but there is much more on the DVD. There are notes for a pastor's semon, and curriculum for a Bible study in response to the Da Vinci Code. Plus more interviews of experts and a tour of monasteries and chapels mentioned in the book. Excellent highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Response to V. Hughes: Not a deception., May 30, 2006

Grizzly Adams productions did not make two versions to milk the market for more money. A little research turns up that one (Breaking the Da Vinci Code) is the secular version, while the other (The Da Vinci Code Deception) is Christian. Grizzly Adams always produces these two versions of their shows. The Christian version uses a well known host in the Christian community, and the secular one includes either no host or a Network host. Approximately six to eight more versions; such as foreign, international and text book, of each show are produced and are "spin-offs" of the original two.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another Deception Going On, April 10, 2006
This review is from: The Da Vinci Code Deception: Solving the 2000 Year Old Mystery (DVD)
The real "Deception" here is that this title is exactly the same content, cinematography, documentation, "expert testimony", etc. as "Breaking the Da Vinci Code". Don't take my word for it, compare the following for both products:

Supervising Producer: Cherles E. Sellier
Producer: David W. Balsiger
Writer: Joseph Meier
Director/Editor: David Priest
research Supervisor: Karen Costanzi

I'm intensely interested in the "Da Vinci Code" phenomenon and it's impact upon Christians. I sought to amass a DVD library of informed Christian responses to, and refutation of Dan Brown's novel - ostensibly written "just to make money".
Imagine my surprise to order both these DVDs and find that they are exactly the same. Why would someone produce the same DVD, using different titles, unless it was "just to make money"?
Bottom line: order either "The Da Vinci Code Deception" or "Breaking the Da Vinci Code" - but not both, or else you'll end up with one completely unnecessary and superfluous DVD.
