Another lovely CD of Slavic harmony from Kitka; some intriguing new songs, but overall not as even as their prior CD "Nectar". Kitka continues to push the boundaries of this genre; their sound grows better each year, although the song selection is uneven.

I had the great pleasure to see KITKA in concert at my university last semester, and got an advance copy of the new album. It was truly amazing. The album's got a great variety of songs, my personal favorite being Zaplakala E Gorata. It's so mournful and the harmony is, as always, flawless. It's become an instant favorite of mine.

This is my second Kitka cd and once again I am delighted. Every song has it's own appeal and even though the languages are foreign to me, the sentiment is strong and the listening pure enjoyment. This group of women transport us over borders and time and expose us to harmonies and melodies that have burst from ancient churches and Eastern European family circles. Now if we could only get them a gig in Edmonton, Alberta...
