This wine rack works great, very sturdy and solid.

Wood is good quality and could probably be stained, however I actually like the more unfinished look.

It was fairly easy to put together, with clear instructions.

You get a lot of bang for your buck with this rack. Couple notes: will hold 120 bottles exactly as described. Will not hold wider bottom bottles though except on the top rack as the space in between racks is tight. Also will only hold champagne bottles on the top rack. Assembly is not difficult but will take some time! Directions are very clear there is just a lot of screwing involved. A drill helped but you must be careful not to over tighten or may damage the wood. Wood is good quality and could probably be stained, however I actually like the more unfinished look. Overall, very happy with the purchase!

My wife and I recently purchased 5 cases of wine during a vacation to wine country and needed another wine rack to store it in our basement (plus I had a few cases that did not have a home on a rack yet). This wine rack did the trick. It took a while to ship (I knew it was going to based on the free shipping and notice I was given). Assembly took about an hour due to some of the shelves being a tight fit (everything comes in pieces). Wood is soft but sturdy. Some of the pre drilled holes were not centered on the piece they were going to, but all had enough grip. I anchored the unit to my wall and it is as sturdy as can be. Definitely recommend this wine rack. Seams to be a great price for the amount of storage. I feel confident that my wine is being stored/aged properly on this rack. Can't wait to enjoy all the wine over the upcoming years!

Each piece fit together tight and right. After staing it looks great, and what a good deal with the price.

The wine rack is really really light. Be careful to read the instructions before you assemble it - it has different sized grooves where different bars fit it - you can easily misfit it (like I did) and then at the end realize the rack is not aligned and then its very easy to break the wood if you try and pull it out unless you are very careful.

Now, assuming you did read the instructions and put it together correctly, it is really easy to assemble (my son and I did in together in 15-20 minutes). Requires firm tapping/hitting to fit the shelves in which is good because its a snug fit.

When I assembled it all together, it did feel a tad bit rickety - not as solid as I would have liked, but not bad either. For extra measure I tied in the legs to a pipe in my basement so it doesn't tip over (not that I know it would have, but given its so light and a tad rickety, I did not want to take chances)

There is another wine rack on Amazon sold by a vendor called GE Lumber - I got that order but returned it because I had already installed this one. But just as a comparison, the one by GE Lumber was really really heavy in its case - so maybe that is more solid (even though the pictures don't look it). BTW, don't take this as a stamp of approval from my side favoring the GE Lumber product over this one. The biggest disadvantage of the GE Lumber product is that you are expected to stack two rows of wine bottles on top of each other while this one has a rack per row. I am not comfortable with racking wine bottles on top of each other without a separating rack in between, which was the main reason why I bought this one, finally.

Overall, this one does the job, however at a 'Decent' rating

Edit: As of Nov 2013, this rack is still doing a fine job holding my bottles (upto around 120 bottles so far).

Clearly, this isn't a rack for an opulent setting. But it is a no frills, sturdy, high capacity, space conserving little beauty. My two are resting on carpet/pad and they're pretty stable half-full, nevertheless. One caution is that "what you see is what you get." If you're clumsy or rushed about installing bottles on this rack, you may lose one that doesn't get seated right on the back rail and falls onto the lower rack. When you're removing a bottle, it pays to do so with a firm grasp on the neck, again so the (obviously heavier) back of the bottle doesn't drop downward. Assembly requires a very easy assembly of the wood parts and inserting 60ish screws. I did it manually and it took about 45 minutes...way shorter if you use a drill.

Everything came as described, and the instructions were actually better than the cynic in me expected. And, yes, DO read the instructions as they make some important distinctions/give vital directions that provide for a stable product. Recommend? Absolutely.

I bought this for my husband (and myself!) at Christmas. It was fairly easy to put together, with clear instructions. There were a couple of places where the holes for the screws were not completely drilled out, and a couple of the joints were very tight fitting and took some pounding to get in. However, I wouldn't pound too hard as the wood seems a bit flimsy.

However, once we had this put together, it has worked wonderfully! Once the frame is fitted and the heavy wine bottles placed, the rack is very stable. We do have ours sitting on a ceramic floor- I'm not sure if it would be as stable on carpet. If placing on carpet, I would probably either put something flat under the legs or use a wall anchor.

The rack will not fit very short bottles, but it works perfectly for standard sized wine bottles. Some of our smaller bottles (like for ports) fit, but we have a few that are super short - the bottle won't reach from the front brace to the back brace.

We have been very happy to find a large wine rack, stable, for such a decent price.
