About the Author

Matson's art collection is classic Hawaiiana from their white ships passenger era. Matson liners sailed from the U.S. Mainland to Hawaii and the South Pacific from the 1920s-1960s. The Grand Manner of Matson offered luxury accommodations both afloat and ashore. Their attention to detail included using this artwork as menu covers which made for treasured souvenirs. The Matson art collection in this calendar is by Eugene Savage, John Kelly, Frank McIntosh and Louis Macouillard.
