This book has little to do with investing in jewelry. Too many pictures of uninteresting people and clothes. Too few pieces of interesting jewelry and no new information about the jewelry. A vanity publication. Better read Harrice Miller-first and second books.

I was dismayed to see it was mostly pictures of people, not jewelry. Barely any useful information. Its a total waste of money.

I'm here looking for a book to replace this one that I spent too much money on for what looks like a family picture album. Basically the author is showing off her own collection on her friends and family with no real information on what to look for when collecting jewelry. Save your money and find a better book! It's terrible!

I agree with the other reviewers that, if you're looking to learn about investing in costume jewelry, this is not the best book. However, as a longtime collector of inexpensive vintage costume jewelry, I found it very useful in one respect: it gave me the courage to wear my rather gaudy costume jewelry with jeans and other casual outfits by showing examples of other women doing just that. If you're like me, most of your jewelry languishes in storage waiting for the rare treks to the syphony or theater, and it takes some inspiration to convince you it doesn't look silly with everyday clothes. If you've got it ("it" being rhinestones), flaunt it!

I really wanted to like this book. My mom had it for years and then passed it on to me. The jewelry is gorgeous, but it seems like a vanity publication - women who think they have the best collection and want to show it off, along with showing off themselves. Very, very disappointed in this book.
