Title says it all - almost. I wish the book had a map, to reference where these vintage lost places are. I am not very familiar with OBX, and when the book says "...was located at Smith's causeway at the old I-25 bypass..." that means nothing to me. And alas for the old Oasis Restaurant (with barefoot college waitresses...) pictured on the cover...why can't there be a place like that today?

Anyone who has spent summers at the outer banks will love this book! We own a cottage there and I gave it to our
2 neighbors for Christmas.. and they LOVED it as well!! The history of the outer banks keeps you immersed in the book.

of research went in this book too. The history of the beach is so fascinating!

Brought back great memories of vacationing in Nags Head as a child. Wish there were a few more tid bits on places like Gray's one floor Department store, Miller's Pharmacy (milkshakes!), Forbe's, Sam and Omie's....but still loved it!
