About the Author
Kishani Perera is founder of the L.A.-based design company Kishani Perera Inc. and has worked with many celebrity clients. Her designs have appeared in InStyle, People, and Better Homes & Gardens, among many other publications. She was named a Designer to Watch by Town & Country. In 2011 she opened her first store, Rummage, in Los Angeles. Molly Sims and Gary Oldman are actors and Perera’s longtime clients.

This book offers beautiful pictures and information about how to create style with livability and luxe. I frequently glance through its pages to get inspiration. Statements like: "The client was torn between two different purple hues for the walls, so we used both, installing a chair rail and painting the deeper shade below it and the lighter shade above it," or "The apartment had very traditional and elaborate architectural details that just weren't meshing with my client's contemporary pieces, so we reinvented them with new upholstery and fabric," explain the development behind the final design.
A wide variety of rooms are included. The author uses layers to create the rooms' stories, but the rooms remain clean-lined and clutter-free without the cookie-cutter-perfect look.
While in LA I stopped into the author's shop and was able to meet this wonderful woman. In talking with her it's clear why we see warmth, style and grace present in her room designs. Enjoy her book and then go with confidence to your local thrift stores and antique shops to begin to create your own unique and stylish rooms.

PERFECT! Tons of inspiration for achieving high style, even if on a budget.

I have been following Kishani's work for some time now and am beyond delighted that she finally has a book. Kishani does an amazing job of sharing her tips and tricks on how to achieve the eclectic glam she is famous for without burning through my budget. I am buying a second book for my girlfriend who just bought a house and can't afford a designer, this will be the perfect guide. Thank you!!!

Cover to cover this book is absolutely stunning. I am inspired by each chapter! Kishani brilliantly mixes luxury with clever bargain pieces. All of Kishani's interior spaces are places that I would love to read, cook, and sleep in. I'd never leave my house if it looked like the rooms of vintage REMIX.
