5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for kids and adults together!, September 19, 2001

There is no good description of this game, so here goes...

You need to have teams (of 2 or more) to play this game; we usually play one parent and one child per team. The "sculptors" on each team (team members take turns being the team sculptor) secretly look at a word, then they have to sculpt the object (or sometimes person or place--they can get tricky) using the included (unfortunately scented) playdough-like material, and try to get their team mate(s) to guess the answer first. Think 3-D Pictionary. We just play until we get to a predetermined number (say 10, or 5 or whatever) and then switch the teams.
Some of the clues are really tricky to make (eg, Elvis Presley), which makes the game challenging and funny. Each clue card has four trickier clues and one "easier" clue (for kids, eg, baseball bat, ice cream cone, etc). When we play one adult and one kid per team, we always use the easy clues, so the kids can guess/sculpt something with which they are familiar. We also play it as follows: my husband and I form one team, and we use the difficult clues, while our kids (ages 9 and 10) form a team and use the easy clues. This works well, and usually the kids win!

Unlike myself, my husband is not a game fanatic, nor are my kids, yet we ALL really enjoy playing this together. It's a nice change from board games, cards, etc, and highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny game gets lots of laughs, August 23, 2003

This is a suprisingly funny game. Not everyone thought they would like it at first because of the sculpting, but it was easier than we thought.

What makes it good is everyone is playing at the same time, you don't have to sit around watching someone sculpt. It's exciting because everyone is racing to finish first all the time. Everyone seems to laugh at each others creations. Funny game!

Only small problem is after you've played for a while, the dough starts getting dry. You can add water, but have to do that more often if you keep using it. People liked the fruity scents of the dough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Laughs, July 30, 2002

This is a really fun game. There is always lots of laughter. The game is basically a sculpting race. I'm no sculpter but it doesn't matter because you are competing with other teams. You have to be creative to get your team-mates to guess the correct answer in the fastest time.

The learning curve is really easy. You're divided into teams, one player is the sculpter and the other(s) are guessers. The sculpter is given a "clue" to sculpt and the first team to correctly guess the clue wins a point. Each clue card has 4 regular clues and 1 "rookie" clue, for kids or amature sculpters. I personally like to play to 5 points and then change teams and play a best of 3. It seems to be more fun the more different partners there are. The game comes with 4 tubs of scented dough. It's basically "..." with naturally scented ingredients. I'm told it's non-toxic and I have to admit it smells great. My personal favorite is Cherry. It really does smell like fresh cherries.

I've played Conjecture with both kids and adults. There's always lots of laughter. I love this game. For those of you playing with younger kids, the "rookie" clue is a great handicapping system. When I've played this way, the kids tend to win, which is good.

I'd be very surprised if anyone who plays this game does not enjoy it. I recommend this game to anyone.
