Vintage Teaberry 4 Piece Crib Set

When I was pregnant with my daughter I looked at every bedding set on the market and when I saw this one in Babies R Us I fell in love with it. I had to have it. I can't tell you how beautiful it looks with dark wood furniture. The set up in Babies R Us had it with a white crib which really did not capture the soft colors. I washed it and it came out brand new. I put it on the crib and I love it even more. My baby lays in the crib and looks at the flowers on the bumper. This set is the perfect mix between girly and not over the top. I hate really baby looking things and I am so glad the this came out in time for my baby's arrival. I was able to find so many accesories at other stores that were much cheaper than the ones in Babies R Us like the wall art and lamp. I found a lamp in Target from the Shabby Chic line that matched so perfectly. The only other things that I purchased were the pillow for my Glider Rocker, the basket with the striped liner and the pink frame.

I absolutley love this bedding set. With the birth of my first daughter five years ago the only choices you had for bedding sets were very babish. What I like about this set and the accessories is that it grows with your child for several years to come. Even better, I have found the teaberry floral fabric used in this set at one of my local fabric stores. I have recovered my glider rocker and made several other wall hangings to coordinate with this set. I also found a knock off of the lamp at a local discount store for $20 bucks less, the only difference is mine is 4 inches taller. The fabric quality is great, I'm not sure why other people think that it is not. I really like the fact that you can remove the padding from the bumper pads and just wash the cover, that way the padding dosen't get all messed up in the washer. I gave it four stars because I did not like the leopard look that some of the accessories come in that goes with this bedding set. It is also a little pricey at $300 but we still had our furnuiture from our first daugther so I splurged on this.

First let me say that the pictures on Amazon's site are not very good at showing the true colors of this set. Mine appears a lot more pink (the flowers) and the sage is a lot deeper (like licheny-moss) and more green than the pictures show. It does also have a vintage tea-stained look to it. It is NOT fru-fru baby, but a more subtle shabby chic baby style.
I also can tell you that the floral fabric is a decorator weight cotton. That means it is suitable for both drapery and upholstery projects. It is NOT a cushy-t-shirt feel, but rather a durable (almost canvas feel).
All of that being said, I must include that I love this set. I bought it before Wendy made it exclusively for Babies-r-us; and I have shopped for matching pieces ever since. The quality is good, and the prices offered here are excellent (compared to independant designer prices). I have washed and dried the whole set repeatedly, and have found it to be well made. The ties for the bumper are extra wide, and aren't as apt to come loose as the little ribbon-type. I did notice wrinkling when I first bought it, but upon washing and drying, I had no problems (I put it on the crib promptly after drying each time).
If you can see it in person before buying it, I recommend that you do so. I have been very pleased with the set, and have previously purchased additional pieces elsewhere- to decorate my oldest daughter's room. It is my opinion that this collection (the flowers, velvet, leopard, etc) would even look good in an adult's room. I would recommend this set.

When I first found out I was having a baby girl, this set was my first choice - that is, until I saw it in person at my local Babies R Us store. The thread count was low and the fabric was flimsy. I loved the colors, but the sheets looked very faded. Being a big fan of the vintage look, I opted for the Lambs and Ivy Vintage Baby set instead. It's sold at Babies R Us also; I think it sells for either 150 or 180 dollars. Regardless, it's about 100 dollars cheaper and the quality is much higher. I even found the set new on Ebay for 120! I'm really glad I didn't get the Vintage Teaberry set. Wouldn't you want to get more for your money too? 250 dollars can go a long way if you spend in the right places - and trust me, that's money you'll always need with a new baby around.

Another thing, the latest (6th) edition of the Baby Bargains book rated the entire Wendy Bellissimo line a C-. They would agree with me here: "But the prices! $300 for a five-piece set that's sewn in China? While we thought the look was a notch above what is normally sold at BRU, we were unimpressed with the crib sheet, which seemed thin and low in thread count."

Also, a comment about the crib quilt. NEVER put it in the baby's crib! I've noticed a lot of advertisers and companies, including Babies R Us, drape quilts over the crib rails on displays. It looks nice in an advertisement but is very dangerous if you do so in real life! Your baby can smother in it. In fact, it's recommended that your little one sleep with nothing in the crib, not even a pillow. I was shocked when I read reviewer TracyD's complaint that the Vintage Teaberry quilt didn't fit over the bedding. Well, of course it doesn't - it's not supposed to go in the crib! I don't mean this as a personal attack, but I hope she didn't try to put the quilt in the crib with her baby. I also hope other parents avoid doing the same in the future. The quilt looks great as a wall decoration, though!

This set is absolutely beautiful. As the review states, it's perfect for those who appreciate a subtler, less babyish look in the nursery. It is very vintage looking and would be georgous with an antique crib or simply great to use if you want to create that antique look. It fits in great with the rest of our home decor/style, and is just right as my husband and I are not big fans of the babish looking crib sets. You can easily transition a bunch of the items into a little girls room once she out grows her nursery. The curtains are so pretty, the blanket so soft and the art work, shelves, laundry bin, clock, frame & lamp are way too cute! If you are looking for something a bit more mature and very girly - this set is for you!

I bought this set before it came to Babies'R Us, which I love. It has washed great and it is so pretty. The fabrics are high quality and soft. However, when I ordered the valances through this web site, it took over three months to even figure out what happened to my order, and then they just failed to fill it without notifiying me (Wendy B. and Babies R Us, NOT Amazon - I got great service from Amazon). They finally told me to just give up on it becasue they did not know when, if ever, they could get it from W. Bellissimo. Needless to say, I expected much better customer service from a high end designer like W.B. Not very professional at all! A real bummer.

OKAY, I saw this at babiesrus because I fell in love with it online and thought I MAY redocorate the babies room with it.. when I saw it in store.. I must admit, certain parts of the material ARE definately very rough.. which is very disappointing since we, as parents, go through so much effort of buying everything soft as can be.. and it did need a good ironing job.. and considering all that its on the expensive side...but it still was REALLY pretty... definately a vintage look.. so if you can somehow soften it up great.. but i think the bedding of this set was definately disappointing after you've anticipated their release for so long.. the accessories are nice though.. I really want to give it a 2 1/2 stars but just gave it 3... You REALLY should see it for yourself.. don't just buy online, not this one.

Just wanted note that I got my Vintage Teaberry set in today, and was SO pleasantly surprised at how BEAUTIFUL it is! The color of the green velvet bedskirt and blanket is COMPLETLY different than the Amazon photo. Online it looks like "SAGE" green - and looks pretty dark....and in person it is a BEAUTIFUL celery light green...SO MUCH PRETTIER than the photo! I was fine with the sag - but was VERY happy to see it was even prettier than I thought! Just wanted to let you know, for anyone who might be turned off by the way it looks online!

I just purchased Vintage Teaberry for our first girl. We have a 3 year old son and while I love his room, and I can't wait to make our new little one's nursery just her own and very girl. This is the perfect collection for a little girl because of the pinks and the flowers, but what's nice is that it is not overly baby. I'm excited because a lot of the accessories can stay in her room as she becomes older because they are not so baby & cutsy. They're more sophisticated and very beautiful. I love the velvet on the blanket and the skirt of the crib collection. I'm hoping that my mom and mother-in-law will help me in purchasing the rest of the accessories because I must have the entire room. It's exactly what I've been looking for.

After reading the other reviews for this product I have to say I disagree with the common rating of one star on this product. As for the coloring that seems to be the problem for some it is VINTAGE ..it says so in the name of the set. So obviously if you like the more traditional bright colors then this set isn't for you. And the fabric isn't rough it is durable unlike most of the other crib sets you find nowdays. That is the main reason I was willing to pay more for it. It is something you can save and use again if need be.
