I have both the red wine aerator and the white wine aerator. I think they work and do the job they're supposed to do. But to do their job, they have to be slanted over the glass so the wine can pour down the side of the aerator, and the air can get into the wine. So I like the aerator part of this set. And I like the way the tower looks on my bar and on my dinner table. So much more elegant when you're having people over for dinner and, instead of passing around the aerator, you oh-so-nicely set the aerator on top of the tower, set the glass on the stand, and pour away. But the tower makes the aerator sit straight up, thus missing the whole point of the aerator--no air gets into the wine. And forget about trying to overcome this design defect by pouring the wine down the side of the straight up aerator. Doesn't work--you wind up pouring the wine onto the table. So, Mr Vinturi? Figure this out and fix the tower. I'd like to send the whole set back and just buy the aerator. And just may do that. So 5 stars for the tower, no stars for the tower. Averages out to 3 stars.

We received this product as a Christmas gift, so we will not be returning it. We find the base useless and irritating because of the dripping problem. The aerator can be used by itself, holding it over the glass as you pour. Hopefully the manufacturer will not continue to market the base, wasting consumers their hard earned money!! Amazon should discontinue the sale of this product.
