This review is from: Vinyl (VHS Tape)
This brilliant documentary really gets under your skin and remains there long after you view it. In "Vinyl", Alan Zweig shows us the slightly autobiographical realm of compulsive vinyl LP collecting. Although he is a filmmaker - Alan himself is evidently also a collector who has finally lost his passion for mindlessly collecting vinyl. He is at a crossroads in his own life - a stage of re-evaluation, and you get the feeling that he is obtaining closure on a cathartic journey that begins and ends with a strange and seemingly random assortment of vinyl collecting misfits. Insightful, funny, compassionate, musically interesting, obscure, original and deeply human. I loved this movie and you should request that more merchants distribute it so more and more people can experience and enjoy this amazing film.
