4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good for vinyl! Appears to be better than most other vinyl lace tablecloths I looked at.

I like this tablecloth but the shipping cost just as much as the tablecloth did. Also, the picture makes it look better than it does in person. It does clean very well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good for vinyl! Appears to be better than most other vinyl lace tablecloths I looked at., September 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I searched high and low to find the right white lace vinyl tablecloth. This was the best one I found, and I have not been disappointed. Most of the other ones I saw had actual holes in the openwork lace cutout areas, which seemed to me to defeat the purpose of having a vinyl one (I needed a solid vinyl cloth to protect my antique table from my kids' spills). And the solid, thick, flannel-backed vinyl ones available everywhere were all too small for my long dining table and too bright and casual for my formal, traditional dining room (I don't have an eat-in kitchen to feed my small children on so I must use the "nice" dining room all the time and I didn't want to have to wash a fabric tablecloth every single day). I finally found this one, which has clear vinyl backing over the cutout areas of the lace pattern. I do wish it could have been thicker, like the flannel-backed vinyl tablecloths that were too small and informal for me, but then I realize it could not have the open-look lace style, so I guess those don't exist. The only way to get a vinyl lace one is for it to be relatively thin, with no flannel backing, but this one seems quite sturdy, and has stood up to daily use and wiping so far. (Reviews about some similar ones I had considered said they were too thin, almost like the disposable party-store tablecovers, and ripped after the first use! This one seems much better.) Be careful about oily or greasy food, though, because there appears to be a grease stain that won't wipe up, but it isn't too noticeable. The fold marks never completely go away, but I'm used to seeing fold marks on cloth tablecloths too so it isn't a big deal to me. It IS kind of thin with a slightly sheer look when the sun shines in, so you will see a bit of the brown of the wooden table underneath it (probably like you would if it were delicate real fabric lace too). I tried it with a plain white cheap fabric tablecloth underneath and it gives a completely different look - the solid part of the white is a more solid and brighter white, the openwork lace pattern much less noticeable because white shows through the clear-vinyl-backed openings, not dark brown table. So that is an option, too, if the thinness bothers you. This cloth protects my table well from food, moisture and spills, but I don't imagine it will protect it from scratches (we have a cat) or heat, so I might keep the white cotton one underneath for long-term use (still easy-care because I can just wipe the top vinyl one clean). Overall I am pleased, but I would have been super-pleased if I could have found a thicker, flannel-backed white or off-white vinyl tablecloth that was long enough and elegant enough for a formal dining room. But those don't seem to exist! Also, customer service was superb - quick response to my questions about the product and fast shipping. The customer service wasn't Amazon directly, it was the company who sold the tablecloth via Amazon.com, but I don't know the name offhand.

We have a large table and we have trouble finding table cloths to fit it that are easy to wipe off so we don't have to wash in washing machine after every meal. We purchased this table cloth...it looks beautiful on our table and it fits perfectly. It is very easy to wipe off! We have enjoyed this table cloth and will continue to use it for many years!

4.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for, January 7, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have been looking for a vinyl tablecloth that did not have hole in the design where food and dirt could fall through. In the design cutouts their is clear vinyl covering the hole so it is a solid vinyl surface. Great to wipe clean and it is easily cleaned in the washer machine and line dry. I may need to pick up a couple more for spares. This is a very elegant looking tablecloth, great if you have kids.

This tablecloth was just the right size for my oblong table with both of the leaves in place. Nice wipe-off design will keep it clean for many years to come. Pretty design. Very pleased.

2.0 out of 5 stars Plastic tablecloth, June 10, 2010

I wish I had believed the reviewer that said this looked very plastic-like. I have had faux-lace vinyl tablecloths in the past, and people have actually thought they were real til they looked up close. This particular tablecloth looks plastic from a mile away. The "white" parts are mostly translucent, and the shimmer of the plastic is unmistakable.

That all said, I will still use this tablecloth, as it is easy to wipe and keeps the table cleaner. If I had company over, I would probably not leave this one out... it's really more of a convenience for family living, but it is not at all impressive.

Just put it on the table and love it! You need to be very close or touch it to notice it's plastic.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, April 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This product looks a lot better in the picture than it does on my table. I would maybe suggest having some white or other colored fabric to cover the table top and then put the table cloth over that. That may give it a better look. I still have to try this. I also didn't realize how Plastic like Vinyl looks. It is good because it wipes clean very easily, however. Also FYI the places that look like cut outs are just clear Viny. Overall this table cloth is good, but it is just not what I expected.

4.0 out of 5 stars Vinyl Tablecloth from amazon, January 21, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Vinyl Lace Betenburg Design Tablecloth Beige 60" X 104" (Kitchen)
Exactly as described. Looks very nice, though it has a shine that gives away that it is vinyl. It is still nicer than what you think of a vinyl tablecloths. I needed to protect a mahogany table and this works quite well. I read online reviews of other similar products and chose this brand because of complaints about other products that were too thin and tore almost immediately. This one still has a delicate look but is not too thin. I could find nothing like this in stores. Delivery was on time and it was easy to order from Amazon.
