3.0 out of 5 stars OVER-HYPED SOUTH AMERICAN GAILLO..., August 26, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Violence and Flesh (DVD)
When I read the synopsis for this one, I immediately placed it on my Amazon 'wish list' and eagerly awaited its release. Not being familiar with this form of exploitation (Pornochanchada), and being a fan of all things reasonably exploitable, I had high hopes of being turned on to a new genre of film to look forward to collecting more of.

I was more than a bit disappointed, however, as the film was nothing new in terms of exploitation, and had no new elements to add to the genre. It wasn't abysmal, as far as exploitation goes; it was more like a Latin soap opera / bad Italian Gaillo that Tarantino had already ripped-off more than once already. It had a moment there when luscious actress Helena Ramos arrived at the beach home and did a remarkable strip-tease on the coffee table for her captors, but it was all downhill from there - she was the only woman in the flick you really wanted to see again and again but, alas, there wasn't enough again and again for my tastes.

The remainder of the film was very predictable and done better in many Gaillos, in my opinion. And there's enough melodrama in them, this we don't need cranked up a notch, certainly not amped up to 11. Pornochanchada I`m not sure of, I've only seen this one, but it seems more like Porno-chupacabra to me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Plenty of nudity, butt..., October 13, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Violence and Flesh (DVD)
This movie has plenty of nudity, which in my opinion is what keeps it from seeming like a made for tv movie, but the problem I have with the movie is that it spends to much time concentrating on subjects that don't matter. Here are a couple of examples. In the first few minutes of the movie the criminals kill their get-away driver (so as not to have to share their loot), and put his body in the car and then set the car on fire. After the car is ablaze, the movie stops completely and we get to watch the car burn for almost 5 minutes (needless to say I ended up fast-forwarding through this part). Another example, when the crooks are first getting to know their victims (before the victims realize they're about to become victims)they spend almost 10 minutes arguring politics and how the the government should be run (again I fast forwarded through this part).

The rapes that take place durring the movie are nothing remarkable. There is a scene of a "double rape" where while one of the girls is being raped, one of the male victims is raped by one of the male crooks. Durring the scenes that focused on homosexual rape, I fast forwarded through them (see a trend developing?).

There seems to be a lot being made of the beauty of the female lead (I think her name is Helena Ramos), but to be honest I found her to average looking at best.

The sum up my opinion of this movie, if you enjoy buying a movie that you have to fast forward through to get to the good parts, then yes buy this movie, if you want a movie that concentrates on titlation from beginning to end, then find another movie to purchase. This is the type of movie you'd find at the dollar store.
