I'm Furious!,

This review is from: Violence & Force (Audio CD)
What moron decided to release this disc without the complete track listing? The omission of songs on a disc that's only around 30 minutes long is inexcusable. After waiting for nearly a decade for this album to be released on CD, I was disappointed in a major way that the song "Evil Sinner" was omitted. I'm sorry I wasted my money on this version, especially if there's a complete version just a few months away from release. C'mon, Megaforce, grow a brain!

MIS INFORMATION BY THIS GUY ABOVE!,
By
This review is from: Violence & Force (Audio CD)
The above review is not at all accurate. I am the prducer/engineer that re-mastered much of the Exciter catalogue that IS YET un-released. The cd (violence and force) that this above reviewer talks about WAS NOT MASTERED BY JEFF WATERS (myself). It is merely a re-release with bonus material but Jeff Waters DID NOT re-master this title. The "Waters-re-mastered" Exciter titles will come out in 2005 on Mega-Force Records.
Just want to clarify this mis-information; the NEW Waters Exciter re-masters are far superior to the old original titles. Jeff Waters

classic metal...,
By A Customer
This review is from: VIOLENCE & FORCE (Audio CD)
When talking about the thrash heyday of the early 80's, Canada's pioneers of rage, Exciter, takes a back seat to no one! Playing a distinct, rabid Motorhead/Anvil/Raven style, Exciter just about reduces your stereo into a pile of rubble in the process. Releasing their 2nd album after their MONSTROUS debut (perfectly titled "Heavy Metal Maniac"), "Violence & Force" devastated the underground with a show of power, energy and most of all, a love of playing thrash/heavy metal. "Scream In the Night", "Saxons of The Fire" and the absolute metal anthem/classic, "Pounding Metal", complete with cheesy sound effects of chains crashing down on the floor(!), rage and clearly show passion and devotion to the scene and all it stands (stood) for. Bassist Alan Johnson anchors the mayhemic, absolutely volcanic guitar rhythms and solos laid down by John Ricci, but drummer/vocalist obliterates his drum kit and proceeds to shred his vocal chords, so intense is his drumming and screaming. In fact, the enthusiasm and energy displayed here is EXACTLY what today's metal scene is missing. Too many bands today just seem to go through the motions, and seem to play strictly for themselves and the money. Exciter's first 3 albums (their 3rd was the awesome "Long Live The Loud") showcased a band firmly set on taking over the world with just sheer musical muscle. Too bad they ran into many personel problems and music companies that meddled with the band's sound until they broke up. Today's Exciter clearly shows a band grasping for the past and doesn't hold a candle to the excitement they once created back in '83. This is an essential, totally classic thrash metal release that must be included in any thrash fan's collection.
