5.0 out of 5 stars Some Excellent Songs
For me Ice-T is one of the best rappers ever and I've spent long hours listening to his hardcore gangster rap. Kind of odd for a middle-aged white guy but what can I say? His in your face, pro-freedom of speech attitude is one that I hold myself. He is one of the founding fathers of gangster rap and one of its most innovative lyricists. The heavy metal band Body Count...

3.0 out of 5 stars Well... The Other Body Count Stuff Is Much Better
Hmm... while the intro reminds of the cop-killer intro of the first cd, the rest kinda lacks the kicking vocals and music of the other 2 albums... the best song is "My Way" which is actually one of the best BC songs, also not bad are "You're Fu**in' with BC" and "Violent Demise", but still i miss the power and agression of the first 2 albums...

His in your face, pro-freedom of speech attitude is one that I hold myself. He is one of the founding fathers of gangster rap and one of its most innovative lyricists. The heavy metal band Body Count allows Ice-T to really roar with energy and creative expression. I've seen Body Count live 4 times. With the release of their first two albums they played shows at Hammer Jacks in Baltimore, MD and a small venue called the 9-11 club in Washington, DC. I friend and I made both shows each time. Ice-T and Body Count put on a tremendous performance.

While Violent Demise, The Last Days does is really not as good as the previous albums for the most part, there are two of the hardest charging heavy metal songs you'll ever hear that are just fabulous and will blow your speakers out. And one very clever daring song.

This album garners 5 stars basically on the strength of 3 solid songs. The rest of the album is entertaining as well.

You're F*** with BC *

Ratings: CDs are rated simply by how many good songs are on the album. Great songs get two stars, and good songs get one star. Songs that get no stars are those that I might like but not enough to give it a star or ones I find boring or actively dislike. CDs are not penalized for songs that I don't like because they are easy enough to skip over. There is no maximum number of stars a CD can get, but of course the more stars it gets, the better the CD.

As with all reviews, these are my subjective opinions on the album.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some good songs... some VERY bad..., August 18, 2004
This review is from: Violent Demise (Audio CD)
Those of you who heard the legends of BODY COUNT, and those of you returning for a second (or 3rd helping) of Ice T's hardcore/metal band are in for a few great tracks... plus a lot of really bad ones. The 1st track "MY WAY" rules. it's harder than any of the songs off the other BC albums. Total NYHC type vibe w/ a little more rap. Hard as nails for sure. STRIPPER is good fun (lyrically), but musically not so much. DR K has the oldschool feel, and there's one more dceent song. The rest... not worth checking out. but get it for MY WAY alone... it's worth it!!!!
