This review is from: The Violent Person: Professional Risk Management Strategies for Safety and Care (Paperback)
When a catastrophe such as the Earthquake in Haiti occurs, the books of Raymond Flannery gain an immediate importance for the thousands of workers involved in giving aid. This clearly written guide focuses on how to deal with the inevitable violence that erupts in the aftermath. Although written primarily as an aid for professionals, this volume is very helpful for the general reader who may have to deal with a violent situation at home, at work, or at play. Just as it makes sense to equip oneself with the knowledge of CPR, this book offers useful and perhaps life-saving advice for any one of us.
