I've used sonic toothbrushes for years, and I'm here to find more travel size sonic brushes for my young adult children for stocking stuffers. I have given them for Christmas a number of years and they are now expected.

People who do not give this at least 4 stars don't know what they are buying - period.
The 2 biggest complaints about this product are complaints about what this product doesn't do and doesn't have, 1. "It's junk, doesn't spin or move around very much." 2. "The head isn't big enough for an adult."

This is NOT a spinning electric toothbrush & This does NOT have a large brush-head by design. What it does -the movement of the brush head in your mouth- through a combination of high frequency and high amplitude bristle motions- creates a very high velocity of movement that is so fast it vibrates, and moves water and toothpaste around so fast that they break down plaque (not the brush itself). The smaller brush-head moves easier around the mouth, between and behind teeth. Plus...this toothbrush is meant to be taken with you to brush on the go, compact, not to be used as your main toothbrush.

That said - I would use this travel size sonic toothbrush over a manual or standard electric toothbrush any day. Results of a sonic toothbrush - even the travel size - are most obvious to your dentist, than what you could tell.

Sonic brushes do take some time to get used to because you don't "scrub" your teeth anymore!

The best place to educate yourself about what a SONIC toothbrush is suppose to do is at the Sonicare website.

I was skeptical that this was really going to clean my teeth like my Sonicare, but it works great! I will no longer have to travel with my big Sonicare and I'm going to replace my substandard regular toothbrushes that I keep in my purse and work desk with the slim sonic.

My 12 year old daughter is trudging through her 15-18 month ordeal with braces and all of the delightful oral hygiene challenges that come with wearing braces. Her dentist and orthodontist both recommended a sonic/electronic toothbrush but she refused to use it claiming that it is too big to fit comfortably in her mouth. I was thrilled to find the "Slim Sonic Toothbrush", and even more delighted when my daughter used it and loved it. The brush is compact but does a great job on plaque, even around braces. The only drawback we've found is that it burns through the single AAA battery required for operation. However, that's a small price to pay for fabulous teeth after investing a small fortune in braces. As an added bonus, the colors make them fun and they are the perfect size for travel and come with a cover so your toothbrush doesn't get nasty in your toiletry bag. I will repurchase if she wears this one out!

The brush is a little smaller than what I am used to but its pretty powerful and attractive, I have the zebra looking one. It has a powerful little motor and makes quick work of brushing your teeth. Way better than having to lug around my current one that feels huge compared to it.

The Violight toothbrush is wonderful for travel. It is compact and does the job well. Now I don't have to put my toothbrush in a cover that takes up alot of room. The head is small but works great. I have a Sonicare one at home, but this one is sufficient for travel.

This review is for the Python model not the Leopard model. I saw these advertised as "Slim Sonic" toothbrushes and on sale at the Violight website. Violight has 2 models though. One is a cheaper "Pocket Sonic"(ten dollars on their site)and the other is more expensive a "Slim Sonic" (fifteen dollars on their site). Shipping is extra too- about five bucks, so order from Amazon if you are a Prime member. The basic difference is that the "Slim" comes with a larger toothbrush head and a covered power button whereas the "Pocket " has a very small children's size head and an exposed power button that can easily be accidentally turned on while in your pocket or in a brief case, purse etc-and unknowingly discharge the battery. This comparison is clearly detailed/itemized on the Violight website. I ordered two of the "Slim Sonics". One for the wife and one for me. Hers came exactly as described, covered power button and larger toothbrush head and appears to be a good product. Mine however, fit the cheaper "Pocket" model description with an exposed power button and the small children's size toothbrush head. I called customer service and expressed my dismay because of the discrepancy. Her response was that I was mistaken and the one I got was a Slim model. When I referred her to their own website and comparison chart, she insisted that I had a "Slim" model even though the model I got fit the cheaper "Pocket Sonic" one to a tee. I specifically ordered these for the covered power button and large brush head features and only got half of that. One was right , one was wrong! The customer dis-service person said I could return for a refund, but as another commenter mentioned, the cost of returning was nearly the same as the purchase price and possibility more considering the gas used to go to the post office, and the price of a padded envelope plus postage to return it. If she would have just offered an true "Slim Sonic" at fair price plus free shipping or something like that I would have been satisfied that both parties compromised and parted amicably. But that did not happen and I parted a disappointed ex-customer! Anyway, if you order one of these "Slim" models be sure to carefully look at the pictures and make sure it is the better fifteen dollar "Slim" model and not the cheap "Pocket" model that sells on the Violight website for ten dollars.

A true sonic toothbrush has vibrating bristles. Only the handle vibrates on this. It doesn't even clean as well as a manual toothbrush and is larger, heavier, requires a battery, and is uncomfortable to hold. I got it for travel but it's useless. The only good thing I can say for it is that it's cute.

If you are used to using an electric toothbrush at home, you will love this one for traveling. It's compact but has a lot of "oomph" for being battery driven. Comes in lots of cute colors too! I've given lots of these as gifts and everyone loves them.

What a find! This brush is exactly as good as the Sonicare and the Pulsonic but at a tiny fraction of the price! It is battery operate by just one AA A battery which is included and is easy to install. This is a dream come true not just for travel but for patients who cannot or will not invest in the other two ultrasonic brushes I mentioned. This way everyone in the family can have their own and it is so portable so you never have to be without it. You cannot submerge the HANDLE because of the battery compartment so if you are a shower brusher you will have to go to the sink. The bristles are NOT supposed to spin and believe me not every dental professional recommends spinning brushes! I certainly don,t! Use it gum-to-tooth and just add floss and you are done. The ultrasonic frequency of 22,000 vibrations per second has benefits to gum and oral health far beyond the obvious. Some vendors have this brush for $10 and less! Go for it!

I didn't even realize such a small electric tooth-brush existed till I accidentally found the toothbrush at an outlet store. Now I have a very pretty & slim brush for my purse and traveling. These replacement brushes work great and are well-priced.
