Beautiful music,

I first came across Yehudi Menuhin's words when on a plane. In the in-flight magazine, he was saying the most beautiful things about music, humanity and life.
Here again, his beautiful humanity shines through in his thorough and loving portrayal of the instrument that was his companion through life. He includes the origin and beginnings of stringed instruments, the workings and construction of the violin, aspects of playing, teaching, composing and listening as well as the violin and other stringed instruments around the world. The book includes wonderful photos and illustrations and is a real treasure. |
