A definitive edition. Khitruk is perfectly suited for these moving pieces, balancing technical finesse with emotion. I had the pleasure of speaking with her around the time this release was recorded, and I was overwhelmed by her knowledge of all things Brahms! Included is a 36-page booklet with detailed analysis of the Sonatas, a wealth of scholarship on the part of the producers. Great attention was given to producing a "historically accurate" recording.

I heard Anastasia perform several times. She is always interesting and this CD is a good example. Buy it!

Khitruk and Korevaar deliver a moving and powerful performance. There are many CD's available, but if you buy only one, this is the one to have.
