This review is from: Viore LC32VF55 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV (Electronics)
This is my very first review on Amazon and this is also the first TV I've purchased from Amazon.

Like others, I purchased this Viore HDTV over the Black Friday weekend sale. It was on sale for $388. After a few days, I was contacted by a PFS (Pilot Freight Services) to schedule a delivery day for the TV. Originally, it was suppose to arrive on a Saturday. Then they call to notify me Saturday evening that they had forgotten about my TV and it was left on the dock. I was disappointed, but I do understand that mistakes happen. So I had to reschedule the delivery for another day. They told me that they deliver 7 days a week and the delivery window is from 10am to 2pm.

As for the Viore HDTV itself, I give it a 3 Star rating. The back of the Viore sticks out further than I originally thought. Measuring it from the side, it's almost 5 inches. It still can't be compared to a DLP of course. For $388, it's not bad and it's 1080p! It's still an upgrade for my bedroom and it replaces my 27" Westinghouse that had no HDMI inputs and it was only 720p. This Viore has 3 HDMI inputs and that's good enough for me. So I decided to hook up my Xbox 360 and PS3 to the HDMI inputs. I adjusted the colors and settings on the Viore and everything turned out great when running a game or Blu-ray movie. I don't see a Backlight option in the settings, so that was a bit of a letdown. I would like to add that the Xbox 360 needs to complete the "handshake" on the HDMI. When my Xbox 360 was on, I decided to switch it from HDMI to TV. As soon as I switched it back to HDMI, my 360 restarted. This however did not happen with my PS3. So just to warn you gamers out there, I don't want anyone to lose their progress when switching to another source.

Please keep in mind that this HDTV does have a built-in ATSC tuner. So if you have basic cable through Comcast and you use a DTA (Digital Transport Adapter) box, having a built-in tuner no longer requires a DTA box. You will not only get more channels, but you will now be able to view some HD channels as well. So far I've noticed a slight "lag" when switching from channel to channel. At times, everything would freeze for a good couple seconds and I won't be able to access anything on the remote, not even the volume controls. It gets annoying when you're trying to see what's on.

To recap, this Viore doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it'll get the job done. Whether you plan to use it just to watch cable TV, play games, or even watch Blu-rays. You can't expect too much for $400. I'm not sure about the longevity of this TV, but I hope it'll at least last 5 years. If anyone is looking for a decent 32" 1080p HDTV, this is it. It's hard to find a similar HDTV for the same price. Hope this review has helped. :)

12/31/09 Update: With a few more tweaking of the picture settings, I do notice a slight difference between this 32" 1080p Viore compared to my old 27" 720p Westinghouse. It's about noticing the small details. I'm a huge football fan, so I watch it on HD and I play Madden on my Xbox 360. The grass on the field really pops up and so does the detail on the players' jerseys. Overall, it's hard to make out any differences between HDTVs with the naked eye. I also want to add that I always bump up the Contrast.

As for the lag issue that I'm having while switching channels, I noticed that it's easier to check your favorite channels on the settings and just switch the channels from there. You have to do a little more, but at least there's no lag or freezing issues.

We are using this unit as a monitor at 1080i on cable television and 1080p from a Bluray player. The image on the screen is very sharp and clear. No ghosting has been noticed on a wide selection of input media.

All of out input sources are connect using HDMI. We have not used the component video. Both video and audio are connected properly through each HDMI interface. It is nice to only need only one cable to a single connector for each input device in use.

The sound system in the set is adequate for a 10 x 15 foot room. Unlike some sets we looked at locally, this unit has the sound well synchronized with the video. Even so, I suspect that our next purchase will be a sound system. For now, it will do quite nicely.

The set detected changes in the input video from the HDMI interfaces nicely. The feed was defaulted to 720p on the Bluray player and it worked without problems. After switching the player to 1080p, the set quickly adjusted itself and we were ready to watch some movies.

Probably the weakest link for this unit is the remote control 'clicker.' The on-screen set up and configuration seem to be easy to follow and work well. It is the 'clicker' itself that needs some improvement. The plastic work and feel of the buttons makes us think that it will not last as long as the TV.

So as our title implies, we feel that this is a very nice HD unit for the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars Never buy from Viore, December 7, 2010

This review is from: Viore LC32VF55 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV (Electronics)
I purchased Viore TV 32" 1080 p LCD LC32VF55 on November 26, 2009. It started malfunctioning in the beginning of October 2010. On October 11 Viore customer service assigned me to the service center in my area. I brought TV in and till October 30, the service center could not get from Viore the required part. When part finally arrived TV could not be repaired still. Only on November 17 Viore sent me instructions on how to ship TV back.
Since then they dragged their feet to send replacement TV back. In email of December 6, they promised to ship TV within 24-48 hours. And on Dec 7 they send me the offer to accept inferior TV with 720 resolution instead of 1080 I had or to wait till the end of December.
I refused and I am demanding my money back.
So - never buy any product from VIORE. It is already almost two month I am fighting to get the product I paid for.

1.0 out of 5 stars Complete waste of money, hated it since set up!, December 25, 2010

This review is from: Viore LC32VF55 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV (Electronics)
Now some of you might be asking why if I've hated it since set-up did I not return it within 30 days, my problem was I bought the TV during a relocation/move so I didn't get to set it up until a couple of months after I purchased it. Next time I get some horrible off brand TV I'm definitely buying it from Wally world where you can pretty much return it anytime you want.

This TV has annoyed me and my fiance ever since we took it out of the box. The finish around the sides is a dry, matt black which looks very cheap in comparison to other TV's of the same price. The HD channels come off okay I suppose, but there is a SERIOUS lag in between channels when switching back and forth. Some other reviewers said this is okay, but sometimes the lag is so great, I wonder if the channel is even there at all.

Then to top it all off, THIS TV DOES NOT WORK WITH THE COMCAST REMOTE!! Now, I don't like Comcast either, but they have a monopoly where I live and I'm not facing the right way to get a satellite. So, since Comcast switched to Xfinity alot of our channels that we got pre-Xfinity are gone like ESPN. So basically I believe this TV might be useless and after only 6 months of barely turning it on (it's our bedroom TV) I'll have to try to sell it for half price on Ebay or Craigslist.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great addition for a legacy system, August 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Viore LC32VF55 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV (Electronics)
The Viore is a fantastic value for the features provided. For our house, the 2 S-Video connections were used for DVD and PC. The VGA was used for the other PC. Most "newer" don't have S-Video. There are 3 HDMI (not 2 as the Amazon description says). If there are faults in the TV it is the slow power on time of ~9 sec and the less than smooth display on fast motion video.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the price, July 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Viore LC32VF55 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV (Electronics)
Wonderful color and picture clarity. Friends have remarked about how clear our picture is and have also purchased this same set. Very good value and just the right size for our small living room. We have Dish service where we live, we also have a VCR and a DVD player and it was easy to hook them all up as it has lots of plug-in places. This was especially important to me since I am definitely not a techy type person, I can plug in things but that is about it! The only negative thing is the lack of good instructions but that would probably not be a problem to someone who understands electronics.

The viore television is great for the price I had to pay, but I had some questions concerning the wall mounting of the television and I approached Viore customer service by e-mail (twice) still waiting months later for any reply. By phone you can wait as long you want, but you will not get a reprecentative.
