Frank grew up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Our Lady of Angels grammar school. He attended St. John's Prep high school on a full athletic scholarship for baseball and basketball.
Switching directions, Frank attended college on a full, academic scholarship. In college, Frank boxed ("I was pummeled in my last fight. I have no memory of the last seven minutes.") and wrote for the school paper. He majored in history, literature and philosophy.
In 1975, Frank decided to try his hand at acting ("I've always been a ham!"). In 1979, Frank co-founded a professional touring troupe that played dinner theatres, resorts, and charities. From 1979 until he sold his share of the company in 1989, Frank produced, directed and acted in over 50 plays.
In 1986, Frank was researching the lead role for the hit play, The Only Game in Town - the story of a down-and-out gambler in Las Vegas. His co-star was Alene Paone. They went to Atlantic City to research their roles. "I was hooked. I began to realize that I enjoyed the casinos even more than I enjoyed working in the theatre." Alene and Frank toured in the play for four months, fell in love, and married.
In 1989, Frank sold his share of the theatre company and began his career as a gaming writer with articles and short stories for Win Magazine. In the 1990s Frank became a columnist for Casino Player Magazine and Midwest Gaming and Travel.

A look back at a life,

A highly personal narrative of memorable events in one man's life.Mr. Scoblete conveys adolescent angst with the stories of his first kiss and his attempt to lose his virginity. The account of a trip to Tunica MS is a fish out of water culture clash laugh riot. Mr Scoblete also details what he believes to be visits to what he calls the 'weird world", through some type of astral projection, he is able to make contact with a world inhabited by spirits and strange beings. This is a bonanza for those inclined to believe in such things. Mr. Scoblete also draws on his background as a N.Y. teacher to confirm the challenges, trials and tribulations of a modern day educator. Sometimes funny, sometimes poignant. The supernatural chapters will make all but true believers wonder whether one of his students may have slipped something into his coffee. As the every man Mr.Scoblete encounters obstacles, bad marriage...worse divorce..tough job, illness, etc.. In the end, he finds happiness with the one woman that was always out there waiting for him ...but not knowing she was waiting. In his follow-up book Mr. Scoblete should consider memorializing some of his adventures with "The Captain's Crew" a band of Runyonesque gamblers, businessmen, and odd ball characters that prowled the streets of Brooklyn and Atlantic City in the 1980.

The Virgin Kiss is a fast read that is enjoyable from start to finish. Sometimes laugh-out-loud funny, sometimes poignant and sometimes even scary but always fun and interesting. I love a quick-hit memoir - just enough to get a helping of a person's life but not too much to feel that I've over indulged and the Virgin Kiss is the right choice on the menu. I highly recommend it.

What can I say that hasn't been said already?This is a terrific book. You run the gamut when you read it. The book is surreal, humorous, outrageous, side-splitting, frightening, uproarious and thoroughly entertaining. I just bought a whole bunch to send to my family and friends. I think anyone would find this book completely enjoyable.
