Firt off I must say I started not to purchase the VP-02 because it looks rather cheap. But I took a chance and I'm glad I did. I was pleased with the features it has, FM tuner, voice recording, 4 EQ settings, case with belt clip, ease of operation, the display is really esay to read and the ability to expand the memory was a big plus. You don't find that on most players. The software is great also, but I perfer to use Music Match to download my songs because I can select the song straight from my playlist without have to remember which songs I wanted to hear. The player software works great on XP too! no problem there. The Pulse 02 is a great little player.

I bought this as a present for myself and I love it. I don't use a Mac Computer, so I have had no trouble with this device and my windows xp machine. The mp3 player radio has 25 presets. The radio tuner works so well, I can even pick up local colleges weak radio stations. The battery life is really good compared to how many batteries I was using for my portable cd player. The virgin software that comes with this thing is so easy to use. It also came with nice real one software that takes seconds to turn your CD's into MP3's. The mp3 player is so light, yet seems well made. It came with a wrist strap, a clip for your belt and a leather case. The earbuds are a good size and sound great. The blue backlight screen is cool looking. The sound on this thing is awesome. Depending on what you want your music to sound like, you can fit alot on this thing - I compressed my mp3's to 96k and I was able to fit 50 on it. I have made file folders for all the different artists. I have not used the sd/mmc memory slot yet. I think anyone who buys this player will love it!

I was considering getting an MP3 player, particularly and iPod for a long time. While an iPod is the best way to go if you want a 1,000+ song archive and a rechargeable battery is important, this thing is only as big as a zippo and easily will fit in the smallest of pockets. Another great feature is the built in microphone and radio recorder. It's easy to use and I have yet to have a problem in practical use. I heard one user saying he was having trouble with the Macintosh, but i use a mac and called customer service and now it works fine. I recommend this player to anyone looking for a 128 MB player especially if a microphone feature is important. A+ virgin, good job.

Since I drive as a part time messenger all day I wanted a device that could let me follow the program I was listening to on the car radio. I also wanted to record programs for later listening or to let my wife hear something I thought might be interesting. I tried many different types of devices and none had a decent radio that would pickup without static or interference from the many stations in the Chicago area. The Pulse was the first to get clear signals that seemed to be strong wherever I drove. A bonus was the fact that I could record from radio and use it as a voice recorder for notes. It works great as an mp3 player and has sufficient volume and a quality set of earbuds. This player also allows changing the speed of play faster or slower for study of audible material. The software supplied is easy to use and the layout is attractive and practical. I have e-mailed Pulse that I would like to use 512 mb sd cards instead of the current max of 256 mb. Also I requested that they be compatible with Audible.com which at the moment they are not. They have responded to say that I should keep an eye out for a possible firmware upgrade that might resolve these problems. They responded within 24 hours to my e-mail. The display is attractive as well as being readable. and the controls seem logical to me. Another bonus is the leather case that seems quality constructed and a neckstrap with detachable clip. All told this is a very satisfying product and priced right. Nice job!

I think the vp02 is a great mp3 player with great sound and radio reception. The software is really simple and easy to use. It has really come in handy at the gym and the belt clip on the leather case is great when lifting weights. No complaints here!

I love this mp3 player! The sound is really great and it has an equalizer in it so you can adjust the levels. I have about 40 songs on it, and that's plenty enough for the gym. You can buy a memory card for it that will hold a lot more songs too. I love it and would recommend it to anyone, and it's a heck of a lot cheaper than the ipods!

I got this mp3 on Christmas and it was great. I think this is better than the ipod and any other mp3 players. You can put any songs on here no matter how many it is all you have to do is buy a memory card for more expansion. The backlight feature works so good at night i can see everything on the screen and the FM radio has good reception no matter where u are. So if u are thinking about getting this then u need to. It is so good at this low price it should cost $1,000 but it dont.SO YOU NEED TO GET THIS! im 14 and i listen to music ALOT!!!!!

I decided to give the Virgin MP3 player a chance because it had the FM tuner option. This little unit performs much better than expected. I used a IBM compatible computer and installing the software and transfering music is a breeze. You can even install the Media Player plug in which lets you transfer music in the Windows Media player window. It comes with a nice little case with a belt clip, but you do have to take it out to connect the USB cable. The other feature that is fantastic is that the unit can accept and additional memory card up to 256MB for a total of 384MB. Thats a lot of music on such a tiny player. I'm surprised I'm so happy with this unit. I'm usually a high end buyer, (Sony, Panasonic, etc), but you really can't go wrong with this great little player.

I found my pulse in a Goodwill Store in the original box with the earbuds, CD ,brocure, usb cable and a $9.95 price tag.... what a deal!!! Anyway, I got it home and found the AAA battery dead and replaced it. I pressed all the obvious buttons on the unit and nothing happened. I set it down for a day and when I picked it up next I accidently pressed the play button camoflaged into the front of the player. The Blue light came on and showed a directory My Downloads. Nothing was on the player but I hit the selector and put it in FM mode, again by accident. I could hear music coming out of the ear buds playing on the table...AH HA! the radio works... I decided to connect the Pulse to my computer and load the CD... dread... My DVD drive wouldn't load the CD or even read it.... I read the Brocure it had nothing about operation of this device so I turned to the web. I was at the Virgin Pulse Site in about 2 minutes and downloaded the manual, and then the driver Zip file. After extracting the files and installing the software I connected the Pulse to the usb port. The computer found it and the drivers and subsequently loaded everything. I ran pulse manager and found some mp3 files I used with my cassiopeia PDA and downloaded them to the player, they played Great. I was 2 for 3 so far... I then tried to record my voice... I said "Need Rec Directory". I connected to pulse manager again and created a directory named REC, tried again... still nothing.... I looked at the selection on the pulse manager menu bar and found "Format internal memory" under the memory Icon, I selected it and wiped out all the files I downloaded but it created a Voice Record directory. I downloaded the files again and disconnected. I then turned it on and went to MP3 mode scrolled down to Voice Record and pressed record on the face of the unit... Lo and Behold it started recording.... I stuttered and then counted to 10 and stopped it. I played my stupid voice and it was crisp, clear and even picked up the TV playing in the other room.. I was impressed, and could only wonder why someone would donate this great Item to Goodwill unless they lost the manual and didn't have internet access... I give this 5 stars cause it works great. Hope you have fun with yours.
