almost no detailed information,

The book has very general information on outdoor activities in the state. For example, the entire chapter on hiking is only 12 pages, with 4 pages devoted to addresses such as American Youth Hostels and Wintergreen Resort. Another 3 pages are an advertisement for a company that arranges walking tours. Other chapters are similar. Contact the Virginia Tourist Office--you'll get at least this much information for free
