First off: I am posting this after several frustrating attempts to purchase, install and use non-Viridian lasers/lights (DO NOT PURCHASE ANY AimShot PRODUCTS) for my .40 cal Springfield XD. Unlike many other companies (Like AimShot) Viridian will stand behind their products. I am going to expound upon the specific (and systemic) problem with their product AND their specific offer and guarantee in this regard:

The threading on the battery compartment is polymer while the battery cap itself is made out of aluminum. If you are not careful, you can easily strip out the threading if you attempt to screw in the battery cap cockeyed.

This is the deal:

Viridian admitted that they had a manufacturing problem (specifically, a tooling problem) with one of their machines and a "batch" of their products went out to the market in August of last year before they noticed the problem. Since then, they have resolved the issue and all products made after August are now made to their standard specifications.

They are not going to redesign their product to change out the polymer threading in the battery compartment BUT they will pay to ship any damaged/defective units back to their factory for replacement if you contact them within 30 days of purchase and delivery. After 30 days, you have to pay for shipping but they will still replace the unit free of charge.

What does this mean (exactly)?

This means, if you buy a Viridian product - they will stand behind it for life. In other words, they, as a responsible company, will replace ANY unit that fails or becomes defective as a result of use.

I purchased this to go on a ISSC Glock clone now being offered in 22 LR. The first thing you will notice is the brightness compared to the traditional red laser. No contest. You can now actually use your laser outdoors. Depending on the surface texture of your target, I feel it would easily show at 100 yards outdoors. I like it.

This is a well made, durable piece of equipment. I use it on an XD9-subCompact. Fits the rail perfectly and is super easy to install, even with the supplied tool. Adjusts for windage and elevation. You will like it. Also comes with a tac-light (C5L), if you want a light.

Have one each C5, and C5L on PX4 Storms. Both easy to zero, zero has not wandered after hundreds of rounds, batteries last a long time, green laser visible in bright daylight. Comes with three sets of inserts to adapt to different rails. The inserts appear to be plastic, wonder if they would hold up to heavy holster use. On/off button easy to use, batteries simple to change. Quality product.

I added this sight to a Glock 17C. Installation involved finding the correct plastic side mounts. There are three styles in the box and one pair already mounted. They include 3 different (tiny) allen wrenches. Fastening the light on includes one long screw and two set screws using one of the wrenches. They include a 3V battery in the box which is placed in the thumb screw compartment on the front. (I found their generic no name battery ran out of juice pretty quick. Good news the battery was available at the hardware store.) Once on the gun it requires adjustment with two really really small set screws. I found these hard to work with and they became sloppy as I adjusted the light. (I knocked a star off for this.) I used a Buschnell bore sight light and simply adjusted the Viridian light to match. They explain the manual process in the well written manual in the box. There are two side buttons on the side of the laser, pressing either turns on the light. I found at the range it was courtesy to turn the light on the target and off before you turn the gun away from the target. If you don't the green dot flys around the range on walls, and targets down range. So easy on and off is a plus. Believe me GREEN is far easier to see, shows up in daylight long after red has disappeared. Last thought, Laser sights won't fix sighting flaws, but once the light is on target and the gun properly sighted, slow steady squeeze and you get a nice tight pattern. Also, the light is educational in the amount of feed back you get: hand movement, kick back, sight manually and see where it should be, etc....recommended.

I bought this for a CZ 75 full sized pistol. It has a fairly large tactical rail and this item comes with 3 different rail adapters, so I knew fitment wouldn't be a problem. I ended up reversing the longest adapter and it fit perfectly with the activation button just in front of the trigger guard.

The first one I received wouldn't adjust windage and from what I've read, quality control is questionable on these, but once you get a good one, you will appreciate it instantly. Took it to the range and got it zeroed after putting a few clips through it. At 25 yards I was putting the bullets dead on where the laser painted the target. I was punching holes through the circles on the number 8 (CHL silhouette targets) and consider myself just above a beginning shooter. This laser really makes it feel like cheating. The laser itself is very bright and well defined although I have not tried it in daylight. It held the zero I set through 100 rounds and I don't see it drifting anytime soon. The unit is also lightweight and on a fairly heavy steel gun I doubt you will even notice it's there.

Despite the QC problems, I still stand by a 5 star rating for this product. If it weren't for Amazon's incredible replacement policy and turn around time (shipped overnight the same day I reported the problem) I would have docked it to 4 stars. Highly recommend this laser.
