One of the things the saturn is best known for is the arcade quality games it had on it, this is definately one of them. Features include a cast of 11 fighters, each with a diverse style and interisting costumes, a decent amount of options including 2 variations of the game(2&2.1)some great backgrounds(the Dural Stage Rules) and argueably the best graphix of a 3-D fighter for the Saturn. Some of the downsides: the infamous floaty jump that allows your character to jump 3x it's hight and fly clear across the arena, the camera during the win poses sometimes gets stuck inside the character, then theres the missing pixels that plague every attempt Saturn has made in the 3-D world. When I first got this game I'd have given it a 5 but after playing Fighting Vipers and Fighters Megamix this game just started to collect some dust. In all a great game, but Fighters Megamix blows it out of the water.

This game is really cool! It has good graphics, sound, and gameplay. This is reason enough to buy the Saturn. Get it now!

Sure,this isnt better than Virtua Fighter 4,but its much different in gameplay.The fighting style is cool and very fun,and its arcady so its great for anyone.Fighting gamers cant live without it,even if you arent the biggest fighting fan you will love this.The best game on Saturn is Virtua Fighter 2.

I love Virtua Fighter,I still have my Sega Saturn,sadly not my Genesis or Game gear. I was a big Sega Guy/Still am.
I remember playing VF Part 2 that came with my system. along with Virtua Cop 1 and 2.And Daytona Usa.

Virtua Fighter 2 is a fighting game that was originally in arcades, then put on the sega saturn. The game has outstanding 3-D visuals (although the backgrounds don't look too good).

You choose a character from the character select screen (there are about 10 or so to choose from)and fight all the characters in a set order (the order depends on your difficulty settings). At the end you fight Dural, Kage-maru(one of the playable characters)'s mother, who was kidnapped and turned into an android with ultimate skills in every known type of fighting.

The game is easy to learn. There's a punch button, a kick button and a guard button. However, there are over 700 different combos to be learned. In other words, the game is as simple or as complicated as you choose to play it.

Virtua Fighter 2 plays alot like Street Fighter 2, but in 3-D (and it's not as good as street fighter 2). You can adjust the size of the arena, your health bar, the time limit, etc.

Virtua Fighter 2 is a good fighting game, so pick it up if you have a Saturn and don't already have it (it's dirt cheap!).

Also, to play as Dural, enter the following button combination on the character select screen:
Down, Up, Right, A + Left.
(notice how the first letters of those buttons spell Dural?)

I bought a sega saturn on 6-15-03 making it my 10th video game system for 25.00 in a flea market. I got 3 games with my saturn system and virtua fighter 2 was one of them. The game is really awsome and I will tell you the truth I have never tried befor any of the virtua fighter games. I have been wanting to bye the 4th game but I have not. To me Virtua fighter 2 has the most betiful graphics and detail for an old game. The chacters are very well drawn and the controls are good making it a super fanstic game to have on the saturn. I do not know how many good games there were on the saturn but this is one of them. Great Game!!!!!!!. It deserves 5 stars

you can't really argue with the title of my review. This game has a timeless value. because the characters really have no ending it gives you other goals to achieve thus increasing it's replay value. you can play to beat your score, learn all of the moves of your favorite characters or have tournaments with your friends. this is a game I played constantly during the saturn's hey day, and it was always more fun than tekken 2. I had friends with playstation who would ask to come over for tournaments. If you are collecting games that broke new grounds and pushed the envelope, you owe it to yourself to buy this game along with the virtua fighter 1, and virtua fighter remix I already own all of these and their japanese versions.
