Product Description

Virtual On: Cyber Troopers is a port of Sega's arcade game of the same name. The game is primarily a fighter that allows you to do battle with one of eight robots: Apharmd, Bal-Bas-Bow, Belgdor, Dorkas, Fei-Yen, Raiden, Temjin, or Viper II. Each of the robots has their own strengths and weaknesses as well as a variety of individual weapons.

Battles take place in one of ten fully rendered arenas. The camera follows you from behind as you shoot, dive, and leap into the air, raining electric death onto those below. Use buildings as cover and remember to keep tabs on your energy usage. If you're too trigger-happy you'll find that your power levels will be nil. While controls for the game can be altered, this game is designed to be used with the Sega Twin Sticks controller.

Virtual On: Cyber Troopers is a cross between the MechWarrior games and Virtua Fighter series with a heavy influence by Japanese anime. The look of the game resembles Japanese animation with 3D fighting sequences similar to Virtua Fighter.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Action July 25, 2000
Let's face it: you wouldn't be looking for this game if you hadn't at least heard of the arcade version. The fact is that this PC version pales in comparison to the good old arcade style. But this is still one of the best fighting games I've ever played on the PC. The graphics combine high level Japanese Anime with beautiful software rendered 3D (and the fact that it's just software doesn't diminish it a bit, nor does it reduce playability or eat up system resources). The sound is very nice, especially if you have a subwoofer like I do. The controls take a bit of practice, but aren't too tricky to learn.
This game is one of the best fighting games ever made, for the arcade or for a PC. That's all there is to it.

i first played this on an arcade machine and i was hooked. this is and extremely addicting game that lets you know what it's like to pilot a gundam type mech. for the best experience i recommend using two joysticks.
For Installation for this game on windows 7:

5.0 out of 5 stars Nostalgia...Sweet, sweet, nostalgia. January 15, 2014

This game is awesome; anyone who's reading this played it on an arcade machine as a child. While it doesn't run flawlessly on my Windows 7 (whenever I lose, the game exits to the desktop), the frame rate and controls are flawless, and the gameplay is as fun as ever. The game allows for a dual joystick setup, just incase you want that arcade experience again. Despite the one issue of the game closing, it loads in half a second, so I have no complaints. It was definitely worth the $7.
