3.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, needs more variety., October 15, 2006

I'll start by saying this is a fantastic idea. The interface provides an amazing amount of freedom for viewing the models. However, as an illustrator who needs a broad range of children to work from, this collection was lacking. If you're looking for an animated young girl, this will do you fine. The handful of models that follow are less interested. If you need both boys and girls from each age group you're out of luck with this one. Perhaps the sequal will be broader.

4.0 out of 5 stars Virtual Pose Children & Teens: Good, but could be better, December 28, 2008

I bought this book because I'm often unable to find good references for my painting and drawing, and it's not generally feasible to get a model. The photography and lighting are well done. I think though, that I'd like to see some poses with different, maybe more dramatic lighting. I really like the CD and book format. Perhaps a wider variety of child model types (possibly a few who are younger than those featured) would be nice. I would have preferred a bigger variety of poses. Not all of the poses seem well thought out. I think adding more naturally active (running/playing) poses would be good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice idea, May 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
What a nice idea. I've seen a few products of this kind with adult models, but this was the first product that I came across presenting children. I was recently in need of some very young models and I found this book invaluable. By rotating each pose, I had several views to work from. I was able to mix and match different characteristics from different poses to get what I needed. I also found it to be an extremely useful reference when I needed to remind myself of how clothing drapes on a dress, shirt or a pair of jeans. I will definitely be adding this book and cd to my library for future use.
