The volume is very low on incoming calls and very difficult to hear and all reports are that who ever I am talking to can barely hear me and it is full of static etc.

I had the unit mounted on my sun visor about 8" from my face.

Got this unit as a Christmas gift. Here are some pros & cons in the event you're thinking of purchasing it:

PROS:
IT WORKS!
It sounds GREAT!
It linked up with my Bluetooth phone quickly (I use a Samsung model)!
It's ESPECIALLY handy with voice recognition Bluetooth devices. (I just tell it to call a name in my cellphone directory, and it does the rest!)
The price is reasonable for what this does.
It's one of the few devices of this type that has a big display area for the phone number, HOWEVER...(see CONS below)...
It's easy to operate!
It seems to hold a full charge for a long time period (at least a week so far for me).

CONS:
It only comes with a 30 day warranty!
It needs to be charged for 2-4 hours when the battery drains. The problem is, the ONLY way they suggest you charge it is through your vehicle's cigarette lighter. (No adapter to charge it in our home.) And they suggest NOT charging it when you aren't in your vehicle. I don't know about you, but I seldom drive around town for 2-4 hours. (FYI, I just left it plugged in while I was at home and all worked well.)
The "log" area is supposed to keep track of calls in and out by way of logging them with a 0-5 first digit in front of them so you know which calls were most recent. The unit I have puts no such digit in front of the number. And there are some mysterious numbers in the log I have no idea who they belong to which DO have a #1 in front of all of them. (There are no 0, 2, 3, 4, or 5 numbered calls to be found! All the "mystery" numbers have a "1" in front of them.)
While this unit DOES have a large display area for the number, it's hard to see in bright light.

Hope these PROS/CONS help you to decide if you want to purchase it.

This item was purchased for my son for father's day. He is a person who loves to use his cell phone while driving. My son contacted me upon installation of this item. I was surprised at the clarity in sound. I asked to call him back to see if the clarity would be fine whether receiving or sending a call, it was I am impressed.

I purchased one of these today at CostCo and tried it out on my way home. It linked up to my Sony Ericson easily but the sound quality was poor. I called my wife who said the sound was not clear but rather muffled sounding. I had the unit mounted on my sun visor about 8" from my face. It also sounded muffled to me over the speaker. We have a Prius which is a quiet car, I was driving 60mph on the freeway. The sound volume was sufficient.

I'm going to return it. Too bad because the idea is great. I actually refrained from purchasing it on the spot yesterday. I came home and read the comments here on Amazon.com, my source of user comments. The comments were largely supportive so I went back today to buy it.

You may want to try it yourself. Who knows I may have purchased a poorly working example.

Battery life is excellent. Sound quality is average. Finally it meets expectation of easy to setup and use device. Value is definitely high keeping in mind one of the lowest prices among the similar devices'.

I got this to keep from neding to use my cell phone's speaker mode, which other callers reported as being muffled. This works much better - the reports on audio quality are good. Battery life is pretty good too - I only need to charge it every few weeks.

I gave two of these as gifts and both recipients love it. Only problem, there is some feedback when they call me. Otherwise, does what it says it will do and very convenient.

Just bought the vrbt300v from Costco last night. Set up with my Razr was simple. Love the caller id function. The charger for the moto razr works on the V3. No need to use car charger. Sound quality is good, both sending and receiving. Since all Ca. drivers will have to be hands free on July 1.This is a nice alternative to the over the ear hands free devices.
NICE FEATURE: Unit disconnects when you are about 30-40 ft from the car and then reconnects as soon as you get back to the car.

There were a lot of phone numbers already on the call log, but they are "moving off" as my numbers come on. The call log will only hold 5 numbers on each of the 3 logs. Missed calls-Dialed calls- and Received Calls. I can only assume that the strange numbers were there from the original programming of the box.

Voice dialing is not a problem. I have my phone set up for voice dialing and the VR3 calls just like using my Razr.

Had a little problem with call waiting, but it was my fault, I couldn't remember which way to move the 3 way button to answer the incoming call or drop the call I was on. I've only had it one day..So I'm sure I will get better.

Don't know about battery life. I have had it on all day in the office at my desk and have been receiving calls like crazy and the battery is still showing fully charged.

I bought this recently. Quiet sleek and speakerphone is good and excellant gadget until you expect it work for its main purpose i.e. making phone calls.

Pros:
* Speaker phone clarity
* Relativly easy to pair
* Battery life
* Though nowhere mentioned, USB charging works - that allows you to charge from your laptop!

Cons:
* You will get frustrated to do voice dial using this. If you get through, its your luck.

* If your phone goes out of range, it doesnot automatically pickup.

* Lots of background noise to the person at other end of the phone. (Not to you, as the speakerphone is very good)

* It is meant to be fixed in the visor. But, only charger that comes is car charger and obviously you cannot charge while driving (dur to hanging chords at your face) or keep the engine/battery on just to charge this.
