Just When You Thought It Couldn't Get Better,
By Sarah "HappyDays" (Saugerties, Ny USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Virtually His (Virtual Series, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
Gennita Low's "Virtually His" was fantastic. Any mention of confusion concerning the virtual reality occurring in the book is absurd. Ms. Low's transitions were superb and allowed the reader to easily follow the plot line. I was particularly impressed by the amount of detail and build up she was able to include while at the same time maintaining the reader's interest with interesting characters and high sexual tension. Seeing all the V-commandos that made appearances in her previous books together was a treat. For such a relatively new author, Low certainly is well versed in her ability to portray male camaraderie.
Elena, who is one of the main characters of the novel, is attempting to become the supersoldier spy by being taking part in testing of a new drug invented by the agency. It is a very dangerous project and she has to prove herself worthy of the privilege. She also has to work closely with her monitor for whom she has an undeniable attraction. However, in the beginning she doesn't get to know him in the flesh, just in the virtual reality that is such a huge part of her experiment. Hell (her nickname) is the perfect mix of contradictions. She is out going and self-confident and she can kick some serious butt. Her monitor is just like her. He breaks boundaries and darn near sets the book on fire with his sex appeal. Hell is obviously there for training but at the same time, the romance between her and the monitor is growing and Low drops hints that there is something more to her involvement with the experimental project. Overall this was an awesome demonstration of Gennita's skills. It's fast paced and even though several characters from her past books made an appearance, it can be read as a stand alone. I can not wait until Virtually Hers, the second novel in the trilogy, is released and I wait with bated breath to discover how Hell will deal with her shocking discovery at the end of Virtually His.

Virtually good and interesting,

This review is from: Virtually His (Virtual Series, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
I found this book good enought to merit multiple reads! I actually like it better than her previous two books, because it was so unsual and sensual! The technology was terrific and could be followed if you pay attention. I am even enjoying it more on the second read. Can't wait for the next installment! Why is it taking so long???

Virtually NOW - Great read!,
By Mtsnowfall (Kalispell, MT USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Virtually His (Virtual Series, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
I enjoyed this book so much, and have been waiting forever for her next installment. This is a very detailed read, and for that reason, it was great for me as a 'getaway' book, but with enough info on the 'virtual reality' theme to definitely make it relevant to what is possible in the now, and the future. And it was steamy, to me at least. I definitely saw it as a romance. I also enjoy the strong, powerful, yet feminine women characters Ms. Low continues to deliver.
Please, please let me know when 'Virtually Hers' will come out. I like her style very much, and it reminds me of the Psy characters that Nalini Singh has been portraying..You probably would enjoy this most if you are into 'mind' games, strong men, AND strong women, but this series has so much potential. I will be greatly disappointed if it does not continue. Speaking of Mind Games, Christine Feehan's military series is great, too. As a former U.S. Marine myself, that happens to be into technology, this was a refreshing read. Please don't take some of these reviews seriously. Give it a try... You'll be pleasantly surprised - Note: It works best if you start at the beginning of her series, though, as they all build on each other, and make more sense of what is going on. This is about book number 6.Also, Cherry Adair is a must read as well, as her books reference a team called 'T-FLAC', which has its own paranormal unit in 3 books..anyway, happy reading!!!

Suprisingly good,

This review is from: Virtually His (Virtual Series, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
I was suprised at how good this book was. I usually read dark fantasy, vampire, werewolf and witchy kind of books so I was genuinely suprised to find that Gennita Low was a very engaging writer who definately weaves a good plot.
My favorite part? The mystery of who Hell's trainer was. I found myself guessing and unable to put the book down. The virtual reality stuff was very interesting. The only thing I didn't like were all the intials, I kept forgetting what they meant which was only a minor annoyance. I liked this book well enough to go ahead and get book two of the series.

Gennita Low has managed to create a most intriguing story that combines a bit of romance, sci-fi and action. If you have read her other books then you can follow the big picture she has created since her first book- Into Danger. If you have not read her other books you can enjoy the story nontheless but I highly recommend that you read the previous 5 books for a view at the big picture and all charaters involved. Can hardly wait for the next book.
2 thumbs way up Gennita!

NOT TO BE MISSED,
By Avid Reader (Adelaide, AUSTRALIA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Virtually His (Virtual Series, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
i'm a new fan of this author but have already gone through all of her 5 novels & am now awaiting eagerly for the next chapter to this new Virtual series. It doesn't get any better than this. I wont go into the storyline as others already have. I strongly disagree with what some viewers wrote that this was boring, too detailed etc....it's perfectly paced considering the amount of info the author has to introduced in the 1st book of a new series. It was very gripping & i was unable to put it down from page 1 & had to read in one sitting. I must say sci-fi is NOT my thing & initially i picked up this book then put it down without purchasing it because of the virtual reality sci-fi futuristic aspect of the storyline, however thank goodness i went back to it after reading her "Shadow Assisin" series - the books are all linked together but stands very well on their own. This book is her best of all of her books in my opinion. It's very seductive from right in the beginning to the final page. Very well written, interaction between our 2 lovers are so exciting, sexy & just pure adulterated lust. The author definitely has a way with words. This one is a keeper for me. I would strongly recommend you read all of her books...The Protector, the Hunter, Facing Fear, Into Danger, Sleeping With The Agent etc...another very good romantic suspense author.
SPOILER!!! - this book is a first for me as normally i like my stories to end with a satisfying conclusive ending...but this is NOT the case so beware. The end will leave you to craving for the next book Virtually Hers.......

Hell Yeah!,
This review is from: Virtually His (Virtual Series, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
I simply loved this book. I have waited so long for another book by Low. Have all of her previous novels which are all terribly well thumbed and have creased spines from re reading!!!
I thought her world building in Virtually His was excellent and incredibly life like. The care and attention to detail was brilliant and made the virtual stuff so very believable. I am always interested in reading a romance or suspense where the author is willing to try new things and write something innovative, this was a great strength of this book. So often I pick up a new book and it just does not deliver that fresh voice. AND I cannot believe I have to wait till August to see what happens next! What a climactic ending! I hope she has some good things in store for Hades! Such a bad, bad man and those last scenes with Hell were so very hot! Brilliant read, roll on August!

I am a first time reader for LOW, and I thought this book was a great start into what I am sure will be a long relationship with this author. This book is both mentally, and sexually stimulating in that she always has you thinking about what will come next. Pun intended. Great read. Cant wait for the 2nd book.

Gennita Low takes military romance to a new plane,
By
This review is from: Virtually His (Virtual Series, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
In Virtually His, Low successfully tilts the benchmark for romantic suspense that features government operatives, far-reaching conspiracy and heady romance. Bucking formula, Low has sharpened the edges of her lead characters and added a new layer to the intrigue--a technology as mysterious and seductive as its master. Low's trip into virtual reality provides one of the freshest, sexiest backdrops to the popular spy romance story.
Fans of Low's previous books will find the same thrill ride--with cunning twists and bottom-drops-out-from-under-you moments. You will also find an icy hero who unwillingly wraps both heroine and reader in a layer of fierce protectiveness--commanding trust and inspiring fear at the same time. And opposite him, a heroine equally matched in capability and nerve, herself a player in the spy games. Between them, Low delivers her best romance yet, a ride that dips to deeply buried vulnerabilities and crests with sexual tension that burns. First in a trilogy devoted entirely to its hero and heroine, Virtually His promises to be the start of a romance readers will crave as mush as Brockmann's Sam and Alyssa and Robb's Eve and Roarke.

I Can't Wait For Virtually Hers!,
By
This review is from: Virtually His (Virtual Series, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
VH is a complex story. It's not a fluffy book you can halfway pay attention to when you read and expect to get it (and I like those books too). But the payoff is really worth it because Virtually His is a really good book.
I'll spare you the plot analysis, it's easy enough to look it up but essentially we've got Elena "Hell" Roston who's training to be a supersoldier/spy and her monitor for her remote viewing missions. The mystery of who the monitor is, is a sexy one because we've got a book chock full of really delicious alpha male commandos - as well as a great action storyline. Hell gets to know her monitor, Hades in VR but it *is* real. They're synched within the VR environment even if she doesn't know what he looks like or which commando he is. Low takes great care to create a storyline where the reader understands the VR world is real to the characters. Hell is an expert at remote viewing and her monitor feels at home in the virtual universe they train in. This isn't a game to either one of them and the consequences are very real. Hell is a strong woman for all her inner flaws and Hades pushes her, yes, but she pushes back. They have great heat between them, in VR and outside in the real world in their one real world interaction. I will most definitely be back for Virtually His to see where the next chapter takes us. |
