3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not outstanding May 30, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I have to say that out of all Amanda Hockings books this one was my least favorite. I am not saying it is bad no not at all! But... it is a little cliche and you pretty much know the ending by the beginning. Also, it doesn't have that amazing romance like my blood approves or the tylle trioligy where you just can't help but want them to be together and hope for the best. In mba I felt like I was Alice I was so connected but I cant say that this time. Overall I liked the book just it really wasn't my favorite. If this was aother author I would of thought that they did great but I guess just expect more from you Amanda.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not What I Expected... May 31, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Okay, let me start off with saying I love Amanda Hocking and I think she is a great writer. That being said, this story just fell sort of flat for me. It wasn't a bad story, it just wasn't that great. I did not feel like I had a chance to connect with the characters in this book like I have in her others. And I also just did not feel the huge connection between the main characters. It was like they met and then they where in love. No time to get to know each other, not a whole lot of interaction between each other yet they both are so passionately protective of each other and I couldn't help but to scratch my head and think... "why?" The idea for the story was good. I just feel like I was being rushed through a whirlwind of events and everything happened too quickly. For me this story was a mix of Snow White, and the movie Legend(which is an awesome movie if you haven't heard of it look it up)It had great potential but it just didn't quite make it to that greatness level that I have learned to expect from Amanda's books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Virtue June 1, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun, fast read about a girl with a destiny, a boy with a secret and a world whose fate hangs in the balance as the eternal battle between good and evil rages on. "Virtue" seems to be written for a slightly younger audience than any of Hocking's previous books and departs somewhat from her contemporary paranormal usual as this is a more of a fairytale fantasy. In it she has crafted an interesting mythology regarding the balance of good and evil.

There was definitely some insta-romance going on in this book, but I guess this is somewhat on par with most fairytales. Also, I wish that parts of the story didn't seem so rushed and that there had been a bit more character development. That being said, I did like Lily, the main character; she was sweet, a bit reserved and a little naive but when the situation required it she was strong and fought for those she loved.

Overall, an entertaining read. 3.5/5 stars (rounded up for the star rating)

3.0 out of 5 stars Love Amanda Hocking
Not even near as good as her other books. I liked it but if you're not a big Hocking fan before you read this don't judge all her work based on this book.
