This review is from: Virus Culture: A Practical Approach (Hardcover)
The title of this book is accurate: A Practical Approach. Each chapter is a concise summary of accepted methods with lots of recipes. An excellent introductory text for the clinical virologist, laboratory technicians, and microbiology trainees. The weak aspects of this book are shared by almost all other textbooks on clinical health sciences microbiology laboratory methods. There are no statements on reliability; the strenght of the evidence of clinical validity, likelyhood ratios in clinical scenarios, nor are there statements on test precision; longditudinal performance characteristics, process control. In the end, I will get alot of use out of this book and I am satisfied with this purchase.
