5.0 out of 5 stars Short but sweet...
Yes, this is a short story. The pall mall match was always my favorite part of the original novel. I am so delighted to see that event revisited, length-challenged though it may be. The author is entertaining and hilarious, as always. I loved this story.

3.0 out of 5 stars If you like fluff, here it is.
First, let me just slip in that I bought this a long, long time ago, August or September 2010 sounds about right. At the time, it was only listed as: THE VISCOUNT WHO LOVED ME, but said nothing about it only being the 2nd epilogue (reading the other reviews, I now see I was not the only one who thought they were getting a knock-out price on the full version of this book)...

First, let me just slip in that I bought this a long, long time ago, August or September 2010 sounds about right. At the time, it was only listed as: THE VISCOUNT WHO LOVED ME, but said nothing about it only being the 2nd epilogue (reading the other reviews, I now see I was not the only one who thought they were getting a knock-out price on the full version of this book). If I remember right, it was listed at 7.99, with a line through the 7.99 and had a discounted price of 1.99, that's why I honestly thought it was the whole enchilada.

Now about the "story", it was short, short, short. It couldn't have possibly been more than ten pages, if that. Which, I guess is longer than an actual epilogue, but was too short for the price. The story itself didn't do anything to for me. They had another round of croquet. That's it. It really wasn't funny at all because all they did at first was hide the Mallet of Death from the other for a few days leading up to the game then hit the other's ball out of the way at first. Just. Like. Last. Time. Not very exciting.

The reason for three stars instead of one or two is, it was an epilogue. It really wasn't supposed to be a story, just a shorter-than-normal chapter that's loosely related to the book and tells what's going on after the book is done. That's exactly what this was. But I couldn't go higher than a three because I really didn't like it. I didn't think the characters stayed true to how they were in the book nor did I really felt reading this added anything to the relationship Kate and Anthony already had.

I can say that I actually enjoy this book because the Pall Mall scene in the first book was one of my favorites. It was short, I must admit but it made me smile. I actually love Anthony and Kate and glad that their bickering did not stop.

A Pall Mall rematch! (I know it as croquet) If you read the orginal then you remember the Pall Mall game. A rematch has taken place every year and the antics of the family are just as amusing this time as they were the first time. This made me want to re-read the original again. My only complaint was that it felt short but I just love to read so I never want the book to end.

I was a little disappointed as this series was one of my favorites. Not worth the price for a few extra pages.

This is not actually a book, and totally not worth the money. It is literally a short story, and the reviews are not for the epilogue but the actual preceding novel. If you have a Kindle, just get the sample. The sampl would likely be the complete epilogue as it is shorter than most samples.

What a rip-off!! This is not a whole book, only a chapter. Someone should differentiate between it and the whole book

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheat, shame on the author, July 12, 2010

This review is for the epilogue, not the novel which I enjoyed very much. I felt that epilogue was a waste of time and money. It was stupid and pointless. The author should be ashamed to put this out as a commoditity to sell. The entire epilogue is about another croquet game with none of the charm of the first game in the book. I felt it make the family appear stupid. While I enjoyed the books I did not enjoy this and if this is the kind of trickery the author and the publisher puts out to decieve and disappoint loyal fans I am not sure I will be one in the future. If you are a Julia Quinn fan don't read this it could cure you.
