As a PTA student I love Visible Body. When I got my Kindle for Christmas I went online too see if I could log on to my account and use it and I was so sad that the Kindle was not compatable. I was so excited that an app finally made its way, but the cost was high as you can see. The biggest thing I wondered about was if it was a one time fee since to have it on a PC you have to pay yearly. I called and asked Amazon and they said its one time so I installed it. I also wondered if you have to be connected to the Internet to use it and I'm so excited to tell you, you don't!! I wasn't sure how smooth it would run on the Kindle, but its very smooth. I actually prefer it to going on my HP to use it. I have never written a review before. I felt that for the price I needed to share in case anyone was wondering the same things. If your a student I think it's great and way better to carry the Kindle around than a laptop wondering if there will be Internet access when you want to study. Hope this helps:)

I love this program. This is intended for a medical person or student in a related field I don't see this program being of great benefit or interest to the general public, unless of course you plan on studying anatomy or need detailed anatomically accurate images of a specific organ system for other projects.

The program allows for 3D manipulation of the images. You can add and subtract parts of the image, for instance if you are looking at the brain you can remove a part to see the underlying layer or add the blood vessels ..etc.

The level of detail is adequate for a student or advanced school course, but it is not the level of detail needed for medical school or similar level. It is still very useful for medical students as a study aid and I recommend it without hesitation.

I am an MD myself and find it very useful to demonstrate to patients on ipad or adnroid tablet what the anatomy of the involved part looks like, look at it from different views, magnify, show the blood supply and so on.

I also found it very interesting for me to review the human anatomy for organ systems I do not use in my primary specialty and now use it to quiz myself all the time.

There are still some technical hickups that need to be ironed out, but as it is as of the time of this review December 2012, it is good enough to be a very useful app.

I have it on android and ipad it is a bit sluggish on Samsung 10.1 tab 2. surprisingly faster on the the Samsung Galaxy 2 phone and also fast on the iphone 4s.

I recommend this app, but I think the price should be $15-20.

An excellent and free alternative for PC is the google "body browser" project which is now zygotebody.com . But you need to be online and requires webGL enabled browser (firefox works fine) and latest video card driver for your computer. Can also be viewed on android but only with firefox as of 12/2012 Free and very useful, give it a try.

Downloaded the application 5 times. Three times on my Galaxy SIII running Android 4.3 and two times on my Galaxy Note 10.1 running 4.4.2.

It downloads fine, but after being in the installation screen for some 30 seconds, it comes up the message "app not installed".

By reading other users' reviews, it seems this is not an isolated case and by reading yet other users' reviews, we can estimate a fix for this is not on the horizon.

I got it as a Free App Of The Day, but good luck to you of you intend to actually purchase this app.

This is a fantastic app. I am a nursing student and this has been a life saver. Very clear and detailed images that you can see inside and out, like the heart, lungs, and brain.

I feel baited and switched. I paid $29 for the app and a great deal of it is locked and requires various $5 purchases to see into it?

I love what I think it should be and hope this is resolvable.

You know if you spend $30.00 dollars on a little app. like this
you EXPECT to get it ENTIRELY AND IN FULL!

Well that's NOT what you get with this app. and I want to WARN
OTHERS that once you spend your $30, be ready to shell out
PLENTY MORE because their isn't to much here that is not locked!,
which requires you to use your credit card to open up more
system's (almost all of them).

I don't know about you, but if i spend $30 on a app. I Want and
EXPECT the whole freaking app!

Totally Ridiculous Monetary App... TRMA

REMOVED

edit: After usimg the app. for a while and seeing what it can
do I would say underneath all the monetary bull corn
is a really decent app. that you can learn alot from.

But I'm still miffed about having to pay Extra on top
of the already steep price tag.

Most of the app is still locked. Looks great but I can use half of the app. I want my money back.

On the market right now, two apps come to mind when looking at 3D anatomy learning: Visible Body and Essential Anatomy 3.

Pros:
1. Once you are in the app and past the launch screen, it is very information rich. All the tools that you need to properly learn anatomy (ie selection, multi selection, references, pronunciations) are all there.
2. Easy to navigate: drag, zoom in and out
3. Runs smoothly, even on older hardware like Kindle Fire HD 7 2012 edition.

Cons:
1. Starting up the app takes a long time. Longer than you'd expect. Most likely due to the large size of it.
2. There is a constant ad on its home screen pushing you to buy their animations and other premium packets. Most users don't realize this, but this app is not complete even after you purchase it. There are premium animations packs that you can buy. Some users will feel that this is deceiving. I kind of agree, but if you read the fine print, you do see exactly what you are getting in their description.
3. This can't be installed on certain devices, like the 2014 Note 10.1. I think this is the biggest pitfall for the app. I can't, after countless tries and with the help from Amazon Kindle Support and the app dev team, to install the app on my Note 10.1 via the Amazon appstore. I'm not sure where the problem is occurring, but this is a serious issue for, what i guess, a lot of users since this app is mostly used by students, and a lot of students like to use the Note 10.1. So if you have the note 10.1 2014 edition, do not purchase this app via amazon! I'll update the review if i make any headway on resolving the issue. Btw, other tablets seem to be okay, as seen in other reviews for this app.

Essential Anatomy 3 seems to be a bit cleaner and might install cross platform on lots of devices, so that might be worthwhile looking at. Both apps cost 25+, so it is a heavy investment, at least from a student's perspective.

UPDATE:
So I finally got the Essential Anatomy 3 a while back, and, other reviews are right, Essential Anatomy 3 is THE APP TO GET. It runs much smoother than the Visible Body app. Best part: Essential Anatomy 3 will work on the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition, and it runs like butter. If you are in need of an anatomy app, get the Essential Anatomy 3 app. I haven't completely given up on Visible Body yet, but it certainly has a lot of catching up to do.

If you're having troubles installing it on the Note 3, try unmounting your SD card and then installing it again.

Now for the Review... the app is stupid and incomplete. I don't like how MANY of the features of the app are locked requiring an additional fee on top of the $30 paid... they already have a free version, this paid app should be the full version.

After a 1GB download (twice), neither would install. No error, no reason, just failed to install.
