This review is from: Visible Thought: The New Psychology of Body Language (Paperback)
I rated this book three out of five stars in part because it was not what I expected and there seemed to be to much time devoted to his theory and not enough to the conclusion . I bought visible thought in an effort to understand body language and it's real world applications and while I can't say that the book failed completely I can say that there is very little within the pages of this book explaining which gestures generally convey specific meanings and how to interpret them. The book is chopped full of a page by page analysis of mr.Beattie's experiments that are compiled to convince the reader of the validity of his research and findings. I ultimately walked away from this book with a better understanding of what percentage of communication gesticulation plays a part of but other than that, I was some what bored with this read. Too much bread and not enough meat.
