Vision 3000 gave me a framework for connecting the separate bodies
Of knowledge that I already had into a comprehensive whole. Michael's
insights are far-reaching and profound, lending an optimistic perspective
to the understanding of current world events. Whatever your field of interest
or endeavor, this book has something to teach you. Along the way, you will
find that you had more in common with others than you thought.

I read this book last year and it has become even more valuable since then...I just pulled it out to revisit the chapters on Wealth Economics and Wisdom Governance. Vision 3000 is full of ideas and wisdom to help us(humans)through these times of transition. It is so easy to get lost in the escalating stress and chaos in our lives and the world. This book is a map to help us see where we are now, and envision where we have the possiblility of going. With the big picture in mind, we can set goals and lead our individual lives with intention. "One of the purposes of this book is to encourage people by reminding them there is something good that comes after. Any transition period is often harsh and confusing; We are in a crucible, and all the cultural structures of the past are being dumped into the crucible like so much scrap metal. As the heat of events melts these things down, we feel brutalized because so many of our identity patterns are caught up in those old cultural programs."(Vision 3000 pg. 30) By observing ourselves and recognizing these patterns, we can begin to loosen the control they have over us. This book is not quick-fix self help book! While it is very interesting and easy TO read, it includes theories and examples, models with diagrams(good for more visual learners like me!)that need to be digested, and won't be fully comprehended in the first reading. It is a reference I will return to and explore as I evolve in my personal growth. And as issues covered in the book such as Media Development:Impacts and Consequences, and Emerging Technology Challenges are thrust into the limelight, it will continue to be an important resource.
