5.0 out of 5 stars Yoko Kanno does it again June 24, 2007
This soundtrack is a must-have for all fans of Escaflowne. Each track is magnificently and meticulously composed, from the opening song (sang beautifully by Hitomi's own voice actress Maaya Sakamoto), "Yakusoku wa Iranai" (No need for Promises) to the haunting final piece, "Deja Blue." Can't recommend it enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack music with a lot of variation! April 20, 2011

Escaflowne Sound Track, a lot of different songs in a lot of different styles. Easy listening, from pop music to more classical sound, romantic, dramatic, Gregorian chant style. It's like the anime genre, a lot of elements from different periods. Appeals to the imagination.

5.0 out of 5 stars This sets a bar that no other soundtrack can raise September 8, 2013

Where to begin. Escaflowne is a masterpiece, both in its television format and its soundtrack format. It is the "Lord of the Rigns" of anime and if you were to see but one anime then Vision of Escaflowne would be the one to see. Do not watch the movie Escaflowne. IT is nothing liek the series, as a matter of fact it is a deconstruction of the masterpiece series Vision of Escaflowne. Shame on them for letting it be made. Anyways, this soundtrack is like a force of nature. It is more like an experience than a mere soundtrack. Especially with tracks like "gloria" "flying dragon" and "wings". I have owned this soundtrack for about over 10 years now and still its just as great as when I first listened to it, and even better as I have grown up. The places that this type of music take me, words cannot truly describe. Listening to it its almost like a religious experience rather than a mere soundtrack. he ost to Escaflowne is the most complex soundtrack I have ever heard and probably the best I have ever heard. Unlike most soundtracks which only truly encompass one specific type of theme and emotion, Escaflowne encompass many themes and emotions and each track stands as its own driving force that can be used in many multiple facets. A quality that few soundtracks do. Throughout the music there are themes of majesty, epicness, beauty, tragedy, sadness, etc, the list goes on and on. As well as the fact that the entire orchestra is used. Literally every single instrument is used to its full potential. A quality that few soundtracks I have heard in both television and cinema do... Anyways, I hope all of you richly enjoy this masterpiece benchmark in the realm of soundtracks. AND, if you havent seen this masterpiece of a show I encourage you all to check it out. The show as well is more of an experience rather than just a mere tv show. Heck, most cinema cant even scratch the surface of the breadth and depth of the Ecaflowne tv series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this album August 31, 2013

Loved the anime series, love the music. Driving beats, Polish orchestra and chorale, lovely songs (in Japanese, so the vocals don't interrupt my reading or work with lyrics I have to pay attention to the meaning of), bagpipes at a surprising moment, music box near the end--the only track I don't care for is the last one. Good thing I can leave it 'unselected' in iTunes... This is just fun music from a classic anime series. Very re-listenable.
