5.0 out of 5 stars The Search for Enlightenment, July 21, 2001
By
Vicki Jackson, MSN, RN, CS (Kansas City, MO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vision of the Grail (Paperback)
This is a story of spiritual enlightenment and the search for meaning in life. Beginning with a message to "find the Holy Grail" the main character is followed through a sequence of personal meetings and events which confirm and direct her search. In this fictionalized journey, the Holy Grail it seems is about the process of achieving higher levels of spiritual awakening and universal connection. This lovely and well-written book is about bringing all the pieces of life's puzzle together. From cleansing and healing our physical bodies, to resolving emotional and relationship issues, to understanding our inner selves and our place along the universal hologram -- this story speaks to the soul of each reader in a unique and powerful way. Throughout the text, readers find reference to many of today's popular catch-phrases such as synchronicity, attunement, energy fields, labyrinths and sacred geometry. Pieces of the puzzle which come to each of us in our own time and place, according to our own readiness. Perhaps of greatest importance is the concept of integrating all these methods and approaches, honoring all beliefs and perspectives. Too many human wars have been fought over religious and conceptual differences. The Vision of the Grail clearly demonstrates the common threads among us and challenges us to grow beyond the old habits and beliefs which hinder us from achieving a true oneness of Spirit.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was Impressed!, May 8, 2000
This review is from: Vision of the Grail (Paperback)
As a journalist and author, I've naturally read a lot of books over the course of my career. Some were read for professional research or review purposes, many were read as part of my own personal quest for spiritual enlightenment and truth. Some of them left their imprint on my memory; many more simply faded from mind the moment I was through. Only rarely have I chanced upon a book that made such a profound impression that I would recommend it to every friend who shares my interest in metaphysics. One such book is Vision of the Grail, by Kathleen Jacoby.

4.0 out of 5 stars VOG is an appealing, serene journey to En-light-enment., April 20, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Vision of the Grail (Paperback)
Vision of the Grail calmly describes how the narrator worked on the process of En-light-enment. It is not a "preachy" book, nor is it a cookbook of methods. It simply describes how the narrator and those to whom she is interconnected investigated and learned about Self. I enjoyed this book. I greatly appreciated that the book describes a list of definitions for the words used. The author points out that these definitions are not the only way to define the words, nor are they the "right" way. They are just her way, as she understands them, at the time she lived the experiences and wrote the book. At the back of the book, there is a bibliography of books for each chapter. I liked that. It gives an idea of what sources helped the author form her opinions, and it gives me a list of references if I'd like more information. Profound information is provided as part of conversations or musings by the characters. It is there if you're ready to hear it, but it isn't shoved in your face. Several times I found myself backing up and re-reading a paragraph and thinking, "YES! I see that!" This book reminded me of Celestine Prophecy in that it depicted an individual growing in awareness by being actively involved in life and new experiences while remembering that truth and knowledge come from within. The depth of the healing and the interconnectedness among the characters reminded me of The Fifth Sacred Thing. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to explore the beauty of the Spirit.
