5.0 out of 5 stars The Search for Enlightenment, July 21, 2001
By
Vicki Jackson, MSN, RN, CS (Kansas City, MO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vision of the Grail (Paperback)
This is a story of spiritual enlightenment and the search for meaning in life. Beginning with a message to "find the Holy Grail" the main character is followed through a sequence of personal meetings and events which confirm and direct her search. In this fictionalized journey, the Holy Grail it seems is about the process of achieving higher levels of spiritual awakening and universal connection. This lovely and well-written book is about bringing all the pieces of life's puzzle together. From cleansing and healing our physical bodies, to resolving emotional and relationship issues, to understanding our inner selves and our place along the universal hologram -- this story speaks to the soul of each reader in a unique and powerful way. Throughout the text, readers find reference to many of today's popular catch-phrases such as synchronicity, attunement, energy fields, labyrinths and sacred geometry. Pieces of the puzzle which come to each of us in our own time and place, according to our own readiness. Perhaps of greatest importance is the concept of integrating all these methods and approaches, honoring all beliefs and perspectives. Too many human wars have been fought over religious and conceptual differences. The Vision of the Grail clearly demonstrates the common threads among us and challenges us to grow beyond the old habits and beliefs which hinder us from achieving a true oneness of Spirit.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was Impressed!, May 8, 2000
This review is from: Vision of the Grail (Paperback)
As a journalist and author, I've naturally read a lot of books over the course of my career. Some were read for professional research or review purposes, many were read as part of my own personal quest for spiritual enlightenment and truth. Some of them left their imprint on my memory; many more simply faded from mind the moment I was through. Only rarely have I chanced upon a book that made such a profound impression that I would recommend it to every friend who shares my interest in metaphysics. One such book is Vision of the Grail, by Kathleen Jacoby.

4.0 out of 5 stars VOG is an appealing, serene journey to En-light-enment., April 20, 1997

This review is from: Vision of the Grail (Paperback)
Vision of the Grail calmly describes how the narrator worked on the process of En-light-enment. It is not a "preachy" book, nor is it a cookbook of methods. It simply describes how the narrator and those to whom she is interconnected investigated and learned about Self. I enjoyed this book. I greatly appreciated that the book describes a list of definitions for the words used. The author points out that these definitions are not the only way to define the words, nor are they the "right" way. They are just her way, as she understands them, at the time she lived the experiences and wrote the book. At the back of the book, there is a bibliography of books for each chapter. I liked that. It gives an idea of what sources helped the author form her opinions, and it gives me a list of references if I'd like more information. Profound information is provided as part of conversations or musings by the characters. It is there if you're ready to hear it, but it isn't shoved in your face. Several times I found myself backing up and re-reading a paragraph and thinking, "YES! I see that!" This book reminded me of Celestine Prophecy in that it depicted an individual growing in awareness by being actively involved in life and new experiences while remembering that truth and knowledge come from within. The depth of the healing and the interconnectedness among the characters reminded me of The Fifth Sacred Thing. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to explore the beauty of the Spirit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vision of the Grail, an Experiential Quest for the Truth, October 10, 2000
By
Eli Herrera (San Franicsco, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Vision of the Grail (Paperback)
I read, no, devoured Vision of the Grail while stranded at an airport. I simply could not put the book down. It reads as a suspense novel with twists and turns, only instead of whodunit, one wonders where the next piece of the puzzle is coming from. This story is about following intuition, the synchronicity that results and the journey of awakening when we do. It is not a book about sitting in a cave and meditating. It is an experiential quest for the holy grail that awaits each one of us. This exciting story introduces many interesting characters who each contribute threads of wisdom and light woven together to make one beautiful tapestry. The insights alone make this book worth reading. The unfolding of events uplifts and inspires one to listen for and act when Spirit calls.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is terrific!, July 25, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Vision of the Grail (Paperback)
Vision of The Grail. Reviewed by Alix Taylor

The author receives the assingment to look for the Grail. She is perplexed but not for long as events and people conspire to lead her to numerous discoveries, from the labyrinth in San Francisco to a group of remarkable people in New Mexico. This is a most inspiring book which brings author and reader to life-affirming insights as the narrator mets up with people in all walks of life who share an awareness of the Divine. From sacred geometry, astronomy, ancient uses for sound and color, and the understanding of magnetic and electric fields, we are brought to an awareness that a shift in consciousness is in process of occuring and that we are called to participate in this transformation. In her search for the Grail, the narrator discovers that "The requirement of the Grail in all traditions, whether searching for a cup, a stone, or a sacred geometrical formula, was the willingness to risk self to the unknown... it became an object throughout history held as a touchstone to something that would transform us into what we were meant to be."

The narrator makes of her search an exciting one, one in which she takes us with her to share her insights and revelations. This well-written book ends with a helpful glossary of terms, as well as a list of books relating to the fields of inquiry she touches on in this novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars A post I wrote to Kathleen Jacoby on her book, June 16, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Vision of the Grail (Paperback)
When ever I read a book, If I think I would like to go back and use some pages as reference I will fold the page... Midway through the book, I found most every page had a fold to it! I was overwhelmed with warmth and still trying to take it all in! I was very touch by Celestine Prophecy, and Seven Spirtiual Laws of Success... Until today I thought nothing could pass either in Greatness!!! This book is LIFE! Each Sentence has a lesson, guide, reference to live by. I was in the middle of reading "Into Thin Air" when I started this book... and I must say After reading VOG I feel like I climbed far beyond any GREAT Climb!!! Thank you Kathleen Jacoby for LIFE
